Alcorn fires head coach....our chance to get Kirby a job?

Perhaps some of you think Kirby is irreplaceable, but I think that neither he nor Cunningham bring a lot to the table. If Kirby could FINALLY land a head coaching gig, we could hire the actual X and O coach that many of us believe would benefit the staff. Insert Stan Jones reference here. Wasn't Kirby a finalist for this job the last time, or was that Jackson State?

If I was Kirby, I would stay as an assistant before going to Alcorn. Honestly, how many coaches are recruited from a SWAC school to go on to something better in any sport? The only one I think might have a chance is the head football coach at JSU. He turned it around in 1 year.

That guy went to JSU from Tuskegee, which is only about 15 minutes from here. They are D-II but he routinely whipped Alabama State (SWAC) and won some conference championships. At this point, I might take him over Croom.
