All the talk on here about Showalter, Cohen, Raffo, and countless others there is one name

that I believe is being overlooked who has an excellent shot at least to be in the final 5. Brian Shoop has an above average shot at the job I believe. He is a very respected coach who has been very devoted to building programs at Birmingham Southern and now UAB. He is not the big name that gets thrown around on here, but he is a very good baseball coach. IAlthough if you are wanting someone who breathes fire and pisses people off just because he can this is not your man. He is however an excellent coach.

I think the fact that he has had back to back losing seasons at UAB is primarily why no one is talking about him, fair or not. He did do well at Birmingham-Southern.
