Thank you! I'm so glad he's out of Memphis so I can actually feel good about hating him. He is the biggest poon I've ever seen in an athletic event...

People have called that trade a "donation" and have questioned the GM's possible ties to the Lakers as a motiviation for not getting more from it.

The Lakers are who we thought they were! I was trying to figure out why everyone in the media was crowning the Lakers when Boston has been the best team the whole year. Boston plays great defense when they decide to, they can frustrate Kobe, and the Lakers' defense (interior people in particular) is softer than tissue paper. I never figured out how all that equated to the Lake Show winning this series.

Seems I remember you going on the record with this before the series started. Good call. I think the lovefest for Kobe made people delusional. He is a great player, but they have to rely on him too much since Shaq left. Some people believed the Lakers were deeper than the Celts also. I never understood that.

Everyone should read that. Some funny stuff.

2. During the second segment, James Worthy had something clogged in his left nostril. Seriously, none of the folks on the set could have given him the old heads-up that he had a bat in the cave? We're in HD here!

I was looking at your avatar.. is that the Fabulous Ones? I ran across Memphis Wrestling a couple of weeks ago and the Fabulous Ones were about to go up against the Rock N Roll Express... what a great matchup.. WHEN I WAS 12!!! Those guys look HORRRRRRIBLE (apologies to Bill Walton).

That is Steve Kearn & Stan Lane. Not to be confused with the Bee Gees, who they evidently beat up and stole their attire from.

And if the Celts win...I'll do the Jackie Fargo strut to "Sharp Dressed Man" across my living room.

Lucious Kenny Valient (Jimmy's brother) works in Batesville in the bread area at Wal Mart. He puts on wrestling shows around the area with all of the old Memphis heros. I'm pretty amazed at how rough some of these people look. I'm also amazed that some of them are pushing 60, but still get dressed up in those same outfits they wore in the 80's.

The move just proved that they are in complete rebuilding mode and I had no problem with it. Free up a ton of cap space, get a couple of extra picks and get Gasol the hell out of here.

and it wasn't that bad. The grizz gott 16 million in cap room. They tried to trade pau to the bulls and other teams before that. If they get something good with the cap room, it will turn out ok.

what does cap room really mean if you're Memphis? If you're not one of the big market teams, one of the Florida/Texas teams (no state income tax), or Phoenix, big-time free agents aren't gonna sign with you. Nobody of significance is gonna sign with Memphis. They might get a couple of good mid-level guys to go along with Rudy Gay and whoever they get in the lottery this year.
As for Gasol, he is what he is.. a versatile offensive player who won't give you anything on defense and fades when it matters. Tim Duncan has seen his best days and he was still giving it to Gasol like he was 25 again.

They wont get Kobe or anyone like that but f they throw enough money out there they can get a pretty good player or 2 for the 18 million they were spending on Gasol

how does Kobe only get 17 points? how do you blow that kind of lead? Lakers must be sick, sick, sick today.

Give it up to the new world champions, it must be great to be in Bean Town these days....
