And that closes the door on this season…

Horrible pitching management today. We win if they just make an obvious call to the pen.

But the timely K has been the death of this offense. Just so many of them.

Yep. This L is squarely on Leemonhead and Foxhall. There was no reason to extend Cade with a rested Fristoe, Pico, and Hunt.

In fairness, we would still be in this with some decent scheduling.

Next year is gonna be ROUGH

When your team is bad, it compounds situations where your coaching staff gets a little greedy. Some of the decisions we’ve made this year that blew up in our face are not that different from decisions that worked in previous years.

A better team could maybe find a way to survive us trying to steal some outs with Forsythe in Pearl or squeeze one more out from Smith today. But this is not a good team and we don’t recover well when something bad happens.

I dont disagree. But today we had a fresh KC Hunt and Pico with the season on the line. We were lucky it was only 3-3. It just seemed obvious.

i have no problem with trying Forsythe Wednesday. We had no real options

The scheduling was downright criminal. Make no mistake….this weekend sucked, but we aren’t any worse of a team than about half of the SEC teams who will have no problem getting regional bids. People think our team is worse than it is because of the horrible RPI, which is overwhelmingly caused by our horrible nonconference schedule.

17 the SEC. SEC umpire screwed us the last 2 games. I have grown to hate the SEC. You will not hear me chanting SEC! 17 'em!

Hope they can put together a hell of a recruiting class with some natural team leaders.

I'll add that watching Mizzou hustle and get to 3rd 2-3 times today definitely contributed to their win. We kinda just let them have it.

My god, the stupidity and ignorance that follows a loss never ceases to amaze and amuse.

It says a whole lot about the kind of person who posts it.

I mean… if you want to be the “well actually” guy, if you somehow put together a miracle 6-3 finish then you’re probably in. Or maybe you catch lightning in a bottle in Hoover and either win that tourney or make it to Saturday or Sunday and maybe that’s enough.

But obviously the odds of those things happening are not good.

AT this point its not a team issue, a talent issue or an effort issue. Its a math issue.
