Answer: None. Question: Which of these QBs did anything in the NFL?

Jury out on Fields I guess. But Pryor had a better pro career than any of these guys. Stroud will be a WR and retired early too. OSU is all system.

I agree on the "system". Look good hitting wide open guys. When they get to the NFL they can't hit the window. Fields has a bit of a windup that's killing him. Stroud seems reluctant to gun it to a slightly open receiver and is hesitant to run.

Not doing well in the NFL doesn't change the fact that OSU has been by far the best performing team in the Big 10 when it comes to QB play.
Yeah, our PSU quarterbacks haven’t exactly been lighting it up in the NFL. Serious question: who was the last PSU qb to be named All-B1G?

When you call yourself ‘whatever U’ it’s because you produce pro talent. Bucks suck in the NFL - undeniable. Their WRs and scheme are elite (as is their talent). Makes these clowns look good then they flop in the NFL.

We don’t call ourselves QBU, so it doesn’t matter. Compare their current pros at any position to ours. How do we stack up?

Fields is showing promise. Will have to wait & see on Stroud but the others were unproductive.

I'm a Bears fan so I'm paying attention. The Bears are finally calling plays to help him, and over the last 5-6 weeks he's looking a lot better and without much talent around him. Next year could be interesting with all of the cap space the Bears have.

Fields has been a fantasy boom the last 6-8 weeks, but the team still isn't winning. He's mostly doing it rushing as well. I think he's top 5 in rushing yards in the league. His passing is below average though.

Midnighter,
Your'e looking for a vendetta to what the these guyes are dilvering on the pro platform?
These guys delivered a terrific athleticism that was difficult to counter in the B1G.
WE ARE PENN STATE to compete with these athletes in college, not the pros.

In 2009 Daryll Clark was consensus first team all B1G and was co-B1G player of the year (along with Michigan's Brandon Graham) as awarded by the Chicago Tribune.

I think my friend @Midnighter is really trying to stretch this one. These QBs have done great work for OSU in the conference. They have led OSU to be the dominating program over the last 15 + years.

‘Whatever U’ used to imply pro pipeline. OSU puts their QBs in the pros, but they flop in the NFL. Mostly because they’re not standing around untouched for six seconds throwing to wide open receivers. But I digress - you win.

Penn State was known as Linebacker U. But wasn’t it based on how great PSU was at the position while they were at PSU rather than a pro pipeline? Prior to the Arrington/Short years forward, in the preceding 30 years when we became Linebacker U, weren’t Buttle, Ham, and Conlan the only 3 PSU LBs that had great NFL careers? I wasn’t around then, so I’m genuinely asking.

Who were the great PSU LBs who had success in college but not the pros when we earned that moniker? Genuinely asking.

I'm not looking for PSU to find the next great NFL QB. I'm hoping they find the next great college football QB. Ohio State can sell the fact they get their guys to the NFL as an early round (usually first round) pick these days. That's all any school can do, is get a guy to the league and they do that. Whether or not they succeed in the NFL has nothing to do with Ohio State. At that point it's on the player and their NFL coach/team to make sure they succeed. Either way their QBs are getting a big payday in the NFL whether they are successful or not. If Justin Fields is never a good NFL QB he will still walk away with millions of dollars.

I mean, I know that the tweet said 2+2=4, but we all know that they were implying that 2+2=17.

I weep for the reading comprehension of some posters.

Ok my two cents. Of them, Barrett elevated to the PSU standard of excellence. In 2017, he lead a comeback that knocked the guts out of us. We should have won that game. We had an injury at T that hurt us late in the 2nd half but we came to play and failed to seal the deal, basically due to Barrett winning the game for them bums when it mattered. The other guys, especially Miller, were born on 3rd base. Had Manyheads stayed with us, we would have had Fields, and frankly the rest of the NCAA sans Saban uses our skills of recognizing high school talent as an advance recruiting tool.

OTTOMH, Dave Robinson, Ralph Baker, Doug Allen, Kurt Allerman, Ron Crosby, John Skorupan, Dave Graf, Matt Millen, Rich Milot were guys who had multiple years in the NFL as linebackers.

I really don't know. But presumably there were a lot of great PSU LBs in college or the moniker wouldn't have made sense.

Robinson and Millen are good ones. The rest I honestly haven't really heard of. Just playing multiple years in the NFL isn't enough, those crappy OSU QBs played multiple years in the NFL too, but they didn't do anything.

Read we got the nickname after something like eight LBs received consensus All American honors. But, Bleacher Report says USC is the true LBU with more than 60 LBs drafted in the NFL. We are second with 58.
