Jalen Brooks: “as they should”
I know some of you jumped off the Brooks bandwagon when he sat out and he ran a 7.0 forty. I had mentioned that he came to my son's school to talk to him about mental health issues.

I will always pull for him and am thrilled that he caught on with the cowboys. Proud of him for hanging in there.

This is the pro sports model, kid. College football fans have a level of affection for the players on their teams that is largely unknown in professional sports. But that is now pretty much going to go away with free agency.

The negative by fans is only hurting recruiting. Other coaches uses this to recruit against us . It's best to thank the player in public for his / her time here.

Well said Spot - we have enough challenges without giving opponents more opposition. Better to not say anything than bash our players, in my opinion, unless they have done something that is a crime. They just need to change the current system.

Look, we supported Juice Wells big time and he dumped all over us. It’s a new world with these players being paid. I’ll not sell my soul to support this kind of stuff. He got paid all year and sat out games that he was medically cleared to play in. If you want to lick his boots, have at it.

Right, we gave him everything we could. The coaches poured themselves into him, gave him all the time in the world to first of all to get healthy, and then to try to feel mentally ready, gave him a scholarship, he got NIL. He got EVERYTHING this year and gave us NOTHING…by choice.

Forget all this junk about the fans being diplomatic. That’s for coaches.

however, I have to say, I would gain about 1000% respect for Beamer if he just said “You know, it sucks. We devote all our time and energy to the player, give him absolutely everything we can. Held absolutely nothing back. And then he leaves for more money. I’m just being honest with you, it sucks. “

If this is your take so be it and be happy with over 100 years of .500 football. Need to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

I totally get it sucks BUT this is the new world of college football. Don't blame the players ,coaches or school . It's on the NCAA , Judges , political folks that put it in place. It's their sand box we just get to play in it . No different than a job . A person could be making good money and have 5 or 10 years of service at a place and someone / another company offer them a big raise and/or more benefits they will take it . We are no more than a number at a place of business. It's the same with a player. It's sad but it's where we are at as a society.

Actions have consequences. Welcome to the big boy world of business son. You crap on those that support you, you get what’s coming to you. You boys wanted to be paid, you got paid. This is now part of the deal.
My guess is he’ll happily take his million or whatever in return for a few weeks of bitching on X.

Even the biggest SC fan would be unfair to advise him otherwise. He has no guarantee of NFL success. If he can get a million dollars for part of a year's work, most kids his age will have to work a decade + for that, even the ones who are successful at finding good jobs.

He evidently got paid pretty well here last season for services not rendered. He very well make more elsewhere but money can’t buy character. There will come a time where his character will come into play. He better hope he makes enough to retire on.

“Part” is a nice play on reality. Kind of like saying my neighbor is feeding their infant cat food. But meaning milk. Sorry if as a fan we think 1 mill should get you more than 20 plays and a con. He could have played in the last 5 games and chose to play the team, fans, and coaches instead of in actual games.

Right? People need to get their heads out of their butts. This is not about him leaving for NIL. This is about him TAKING NIL and then choosing not to play.
