If so check the email you should have received yesterday. As I read it, our “lifetime” memberships will die in 2023 to be replaced by an annual $100 membership with a significantly different set of benefits. Not sure how they think it’s a good business decision to alienate a crazy loyal customer base but there it is in the email. Funny, in the email they thank all their loyal customers for helping them survive the challenges of COVID and then proceed to screw the same group in the same email. Ah well, looks like I have swilled my last Black Mo.

Meh. Their beers and cider is decent. The last couple of times we were there the food quality has gone down. Not one my top choices anymore when we go out to eat which is a lot.

Agree on the food decline. It mostly just chaps my *** that they sold lifetime memberships that now aren’t.

I didn’t see the email, but that truly sucks. I’ve been going there less & less, and they just provided another reason to look at other options. Very poor business practice to renege on a lifetime membership.

Did they say whose lifetime?

So they killed someone to get out of these memberships?

Currently members get a larger mug on any beer they order, can make reservations where non-members can not, get a free meal of their choice for their birthday, get invited to special events and some other minor stuff. The new pub club reduces the freebie stuff significantly. I think I paid $250 many years ago for my “lifetime” membership. The new one is shown as $100 per year with current “lifetime” members getting their first year free.

@CvilleElksCoach what are your top choices for dining in the SC area? Always looking for opinions and maybe finding some hidden gems
I live not far and am in SC many times a month for dinner. I would go more often, but IMO the value in SC restaurants had declined significantly over the past few years. The *new* Tavern is okay. If you had never been to the *old* Tavern it is fine, but old Tavern was way better than the new one will probably ever be. It would have been better if they just didn't call it the Tavern. Expectations are just elevated because of the name. Go to the Tavern to try it, especially if you have never been there before the changes.
In SC I would go to Ale House, Cozy Tai, Field, Facia Luna, the Greek, Gigi's, Happy Valley Brewing Co, or Barrel 21(sister to Otto's) or Allen Street in that order.
If you want to travel a bit outside of SC I would recommend any of these over the places above. Elk Creek Tavern or Hublersburg Inn. I drive past SC to get to these places.

Thank you. Pretty must my list. Been to all. Ale House is my favorite hands down. Want to get to Happy ValleyBrewing more often As well as Barrel. 21. Every time I go, Gigis and Allen Street Grille underwhelm me. I want them to be better. You are spot on with the Tavern. I loved the oldTavern, but now find the new one average. Kelly’s is pretty good.

should try Greek again(only had it once).

Gigi's, the field, and Allen Street haven't ever impressed me. The rest of the list is good. I like four way, banfattos and Jim's in Bellefonte.

I will add a couple with the understanding there is no fine dining in SC. Governors pub in Bellefonte is good. Gigis is very inconsistent. Allen Street grill is decent. Duffy’s tavern is not too bad. Have had some good meals there in the last couple of years. They have a nice outside area in the summer.

Thanks for all of the info gents. I’m taking the family up for the basketball game against Delaware State on the 29th. I think we’re staying at the hotel right next to the Happyvalley brewery so I’m sure we’ll go there for one meal but of course the kids will want pizza, so what’s the best place for pizza in town where we can dine in.
