on the other baseball coaches we might hire, specifically our new pitching coach?

It looks like a lot of pitching coaches are taking head coaching jobs this year, which kind of worries me a little bit.

Also, is Auburn still looking at Brian Shoop? If I were them, I would be begging Tim Corbin to come, but they've made some poor decisions with their other baseball coaching hires.

Finally, any Raffo rumors?

I haven't heard anything else. I trust John to get a good pitching coach but the rumor mill hasn't turned out any new names to speculate on.

First Corbin tells LSU no a couple of years ago and now their pitching coach tells MSU no. What's keeping these guys at Vandy?

Unless I had ties to a program that I really loved, I wouldn't leave a city like Nashville for a place like Baton Rouge or Starkville, even if the job seemed bigger and better. They had the #1 team in the land most of last season, the #1 overall pick last year in the MLB draft & the #2 overall pick this year. I'd say that Corbin and the like know they have a good place to sell to recruits, love living there and know they can be one of the top programs in the nation, year in year out. Why would anyone leave that?

Nashville may be easy to sell recruits but Cohen and DNF should be able to do better. Even with the top two picks they didn't sniff Omaha so saying they can consistently be tops is a stretch. Johnson may be comfortable at Vandy but with the resources at State I don't think I would turn us down.... but I might be biased.
