our offense. We let crappy teams hang around. All it takes is a few miscues to lose a game like this (see Maine, Tulane, etc.). Would be nice to believe we are past losing to crappy teams (or letting them play us very close), but I'll believe it when I see it. If we go out & kick their butts for 4 quarters, I will be very pleased (not holding my breath).

it will take three to four winning seasons in a row which contain us never losing a game to a non-BCS opponent for me to get past that. Maine is the reason there isn't 100 percent confidence in MSU right now.

...before a game, but especially before an away game with a decent opponent. In the case of La Tech, I think they have the ability to score. I think our defense won't allow them to score all that much, but they will score. Gabe O'Neal told a friend of mine that he thinks they will score 17 on us. I think we can score 31 on them. They gave up an average of 31 ppg last year. That is where I got my prediction of 31-17.

They have a large team. However, their depth is questionable. I think we go up about 17-7 at the half, and then let them get close, then hammer them in the 4th quarter. They have about 3 players who could start for us. One because Pegues isn't starting or playing for us in this game.

so what bothers me is starting two new OTs. That's never a good thing.

This is going to be a tough game. I really think it's a toss up.

there are alot of people around here that think Tech could be good enough to go bowling this year...And we arent good enough on the OL to be losing people for games and it not affect us...

This game has the potential to go down to the wire...

They almost won that many last year and didn't beat anybody at all. I am concerned about Sherrod potentially missing the game, but I'd be a lot more concerned if it were agaisnt an SEC team (except Vandy).

La. Tech will win 6 or 7 against their conference but outside of that they will eat ****.

Really? Intelligent comments like this one are why MSU is in a NO WIN situation. It will be funny to read what this genius has to say if Croom and the sons of potential thunder lose to those "****-eaters" in Ruston.

I think they might win 6 or 7 total. I'm including wins over Army and SE Louisiana in that total.

...I agree with you. This game could be the perfect storm. First, Pegues is out. That is a huge, huge blow obvious to anybody who watched us last year. Second, now Sherrod is out. That leaves one solid lineman with substantial experience. I am not comfortable with Saulsberry and Melichar. Then, throw in the fact that we are flying out that morning. I really don't think that's good. The obvious factor of us playing over there, which is huge for them, even though they can't seem to sell tickets. We will get their best effort. We won't give ours. There are too many mitigating factors. We beat this team by 17-27 at home with everybody healthy. Over there, with 2 of our best players out.....anything can happen.

The difference is that if we win by one, I'll just be happy we gout out of there alive, and you'll be hawking about how Crooms needs to be canned and all of that - even though you are saying we could have trouble.

about Sherrod. It's an infection. In his foot. So, what is the physical manifestation of that infection? Big sore? Swelling? Both? I mean, why can't we shoot him up with something, pat him on the rear and tell him to knock some people around out there?

And they just got deeper.
