Anyone else notice MS Southern's last couple weeks of Baseball

Went 2-1 versus a good UCF team, 1-0 vs. OM (in Jackson and ranked 24 at the time), 2-1 vs Rice (at Rice and ranked 16 at the time)

Christ it is going to be an interesting weekend in Hattiesburg when we head that way in a few weeks. Hopefully we will show up for the games but I am not counting on it.

I think there's a much better chance that Polk will end up in the Hattiesburg jail than us winning a game.

These are interesting times for baseball in Hattiesburg. ECU (RPI 21) comes in this weekend. LSU comes to town next week. Then a series in (always tough) Houston. Then Alabama in Pearl, and on to Tulane- where USM never plays well- for the weekend. A week later, MSU comes to town for two. Boyd Nation currently has USM at 10 in his RPI.

Until Southern makes it to a super, they should be ignored.

Every year, people start talking about how good or how dangerous Southern is and every year they flame out in regionals without a threat.

i haven't ignored them. i was looking forward in the schedule today and was trying to find places where we can get a win and southern is usually one where we at a minimum split.

i do agree that they need to make a run in post season but that does not negate the fact that we have to play them in the regular season. **** as of now we won't be sniffing the post season so it doesn't really matter one bit what they do in it.

We're 12-15 now. After a 2 minute check of the schedule (if that long), I predict we go 13-16 the rest of the way to finish 25-31.

but that is about what i came up with today. there are a few wins mixed in there that may be from me not accepting our fate this year. it could easily be worse than 5 games under .500
