Anyone know anything about Butch Thompson??

Cohen, Burroughs and Thompson are all great recruiters in addition to being proven coaches. Has anyone heard if Coach Rose from MCC is coming as Director of Baseball Operations?
I ran into one of his players the other day and I asked about Rose going to MSU. (The player is a huge MSU fan and wanted to go there.) From the wide smile that he gave me while he steadily denied knowing anything about it.....I had to infer that there is a damn good chance that Rose will go.....or at least is talking seriously to Cohen about it.
awesome hire for Cohen. Perno immediately snapped him up at Georgia when he got the job after Polk left Athens; this was just after Thompson helped Birmingham-Southern win a national title in 2001. His top two pitchers were drafted that year, including a fifth rounder (this was NAIA at the time, mind you). The success at UGA is well documented in the release. Believe he and Perno clashed, therefore the move to Auburn later on. He had just taken the head job at High Point in the last week or so.
To lure someone away from a head coaching gig, even though it is High Point, I think says a lot about Cohen and the respect other coaches have for him and what the possibilities are at State. Add in that he's an Amory native doesn't hurt at all.

I think this is another great hire. This is a guy who has had success as a pitching coach in the SEC, and as far as recruiting, he should know Alabama and more importantly Georgia well.
