Anyone know why Verdonk doesn't play anymore?

Well I know he isn't a good player but was getting some playing time earlier in the year. Just wondered if he was in the dog house. If being a bad player kept you from playing, Gray would never see the floor. I wish I had his body and height....I would be a force! He looks like Tarzan....plays like Jane.

Gray's play has improved substantially in the last couple of months. That's a big part of why Verdonk is seeing less PT.

You have no clue. Gray changes drives and shots, gets rebounds….watch how many drives to the hoop when he’s not in vs when he’s in.

Gray is a very important player for our team particularly when we are playing against teams with big inside presence. His defense is good and he is one of the better rebounders on the team. As someone else stated, his play has become much better starting with the Kentucky game and maybe before that. That sent Verdonk to the bench.

You have no clue... there is more to basketball than being tall and stopping people from wanting to drive the basket. He is an offensive liability with hands of stone! He isn't a real shot blocker. He is mediocre as a big guy and everyone who can be honest knows it. Yes, he has gotten better but he is not a great big man. That is just facts.

Gray didn’t get much playing time in the last game. I asked about him earlier.

Verdonk is a great young man. But Gray is an offensive machine compared to him.😀 He plays hard but can’t make a two foot shot. He gets out jumped by bigger post players. We have seen him under the basket with the ball, no one around and he still is afraid to try and lay it in. There’s a reason Gray is playing and he is crucial to our success going forward.

I am a fan of Verdonk but he can’t help us right now.

And who said “great?”…the question was about Verdonk. Gray helps us more. Simple. And the hands of stone no offense description you gave of Gray is x 2 for Verdonk. Not arguing…just stating fact

Sometimes you contribute by being a great supporter on the bench. I'm not saying that such is the case here, but should we discount that?

Nobody said Gray is great. He's definitely not. But he has drastically improved from where he was earlier in the season, and he's a key contributor for this team.

I am a fan of his….period. Hard working bright young man. Hustler on the court. He is just outsized at the center spot, and lacks the offensive skill to be an effective forward. Would love for him to show more offensive confidence.

But Gray provides much needed size we have to have. Lamont knows and I said this before SEC play began…..we have to play Gray. Go back to the opening game against Mississippi State, first two off the bench were gray and wright together. LP knew then we needed him. Had not happened all year til then.
