I'll be glad to take 2-4 off your hands and try to help dawgs bring home a win.

tickets are easy to find but hard to justify paying processing fees for $2 tickets when I know I was happy to give games like this away when I had season tickets in the past.

If I were AD for a year, I would make season tickets good for SEC games and select non-con games (Pitt, for example) only.

All other games, including tonight (Bethune on a Monday night at 8 pm without students in town), would be general admission: $5 (OR student ID) at the door. Season ticket holders could also scan in at the gate at no additional charge. They just wouldn’t have any claim to a particular seat.

Not only would it improve the atmosphere and optics on TV, it could increase support among non alums in the Golden Triangle who just want to watch basketball.

You could do something similar with baseball.

Also, just ban visiting fans.

This is why it would only be cheap GA for games like tonight and not for games against Kentucky. I don’t think Bethune is taking over the Hump. And if they do, good for them and shame on our fans.

That and somehow give more of an incentive to make an effort to get tickets in the hands of others. Like more bonus points or something with the bulldog club.

My idea for that:

If a season ticket holder can’t make a game, they can make their seat available to be sold to the public through the athletic department. They get a bulldog club point incentive.

For example, a season ticket holder can’t make a game. They go online, click SELL MY SEAT. That seat is now available for purchase through the website as an individual game ticket. If another fan either buys it online or walks up to the ticket window and buys it, the season ticket holder gets a bulldog club point incentive.

I'd be all for this. How much does State get from being partnered with seat geek would be the question.

They already do that with seat geek…sort of. It’s better than nothing and I do believe we get points for tickets being used (at least we used to) but I say make it even more. Make it where people really benefit from getting rid of their tickets.

I don’t know, but I don’t know why we need them. We should be selling season tickets and GA at the door. On top of that, we should be able to engineer a sell my seat feature through the bulldog club.

Pretty sure I remember getting an email (don’t remember if it was Bulldog club or ticket office) about returning tickets for them to distribute to your groups/charities and you’d get Bulldog Club points in return. Went to the link and was going to turn in some of the early non-conference games and it said it was limited to lower level only.
