Seeing how quite a few members in here grew up in the generation that didn't throw things away when they were still working, anyone still own a VCR? Have VHS tapes?

No and yes.

I just never threw them away. They are mostly PSU games.

There used to be a guy on the board(s) who taped PSU games, cut the commercials, and you could buy from him. Then he switched to DVD. Then when people got DVR and there were multiple channels showing games, I think he stopped doing it. But, seemed like a good guy.

I still have a combo VHS - DVD player/recorder. Haven’t used it in years. Used it to transfer VHS to DVD. Quality was not great. Can now get most things streamed

Used to have quite a few PSU games on VHS. The only one I have left is the 87 Fiesta Bowl, but I have no means of actually watching it.

I do have a lot of videos of my kids on VHS-C that I need to move to DVD or digitize.

I still have a tape that includes half hour highlights from '68, '69, '71, '73, '77, '78, '80, '81, '82 plus the 1st National Championship. Also have BWI tapes with highlights of several recruiting classes. I wish I still had a VHS player.

I gave the VCR to Staples to recycle and donated the VHS tapes. They have no resale value, and I knew I would never watch them again.

I have every nationally televised Penn State football game from the 1979 Liberty Bowl through the 1993 season on VHS tapes. I cannot attest to their quality, however. I should have thrown them away by now, but I haven't even though I no longer own a VHS player. I admit, I'm a sad case.

Someone named "Arc Lite" has placed many no-commercial games on Youtube. (Hope I am not outing him/her in a negative way.) Most replays are in the 30-minute range.

Have some PSU football VCR tapes and DVR recorder/player sitting on a shelf under the TV. Why do I keep these. Guess I'm a packrat.

I still have some vhs and vhs-c home movies that I need to get to digital. A new VHS player is about $50 at Best Buy so if you don't have one go get one. With digital on-demand it doesn't matter, but we all thought that CD's were so much better but there was never and mean not a single vhs tape that my kids disabled that I couldn't repair while CD's were good for about 3 viewings.

I don't have a VCR but I do still have 1 VCR tape...my wedding or at least part of it because the videographer had a technical error that day.

Now you can just get them on YouTube. It probably blows guys minds here on the board.

There’s the problem with YouTube , the games come and go, sometimes you can find them and other times they are gone so best to have a back up other than YouTube

One of these days I'm going to get a VHS to digital converter. I see one on Amazon for $11.99.
