Apparently, UNC feels they can't win without Tez Walker

There is nothing in the article provided that implies what the title of this thread suggests.
If anything it references some prominent media personalities that have been vocal on the subject siding with Walker, along with a retired Supreme Court Justice and NCAA adovacate suggesting that UNC play him anyway.
Not that I agree with any of what they are saying, but just setting the record straight.

I think putting out the threat to play an ineligible player, not directly but through surrogates, is an attempt to intimidate the NCAA to rule in their favor and is a desperation move.

That is not exactly how that is written, per the attorney he stated it was UNC's decision, and then suggested to put him in uniform anyway and see if that forces the NCAA hand.
Again, I'm not siding with UNC in this matter, but some of what you are stating is misleading in regards to the article you provided.

Sometimes these tactics of fighting it out in the public forum can backfire. They have backed the NCAA into the corner by publicly attempting to humiliate them in front of a national audience when technically the NCAA is interpreting their own rules correctly (at least in my opinion). If the NCAA backs down at this late stage and after this much public pressure, it basically emasculates them in the future. These ACC people sure don't mind showing their a$$es.

UNC is laughing. These are the same people who brought us fake classes. NCAA is powerless.

It's really stupid that he is unable to play. I'm not upset that he's not playing but...

NCAA will dig their heels in on this but they allowed players to be paid (prior to NIL), academic fraud (UNC) etc. I would love to see UNC put him on the field and see how the impotent NCAA reacts.

Is there any doubt the NCAA is going to grant his waiver?

Seems like they are just waiting for maximum dramatic effect. Creating a storyline.

I would love to see them play him and us take them to the woodshed anyway! That way they couldn't be whining that they list because he couldn't play!🏈

I am not worried about this guy. It’s Maye who gives me heartburn. Maye is very good and his presence in the game merits worry for me.

Ditto. Maye will be a handful. If UNC is good enough to beat us, I don’t think Walker would make a difference.

He's eligible this weekend against Syracuse. NCAA claims they recieved new information that wasn't previously provided by UNC. NCAA is full of crap.

I dislike UNC but this is pretty ridiculous.
