What the are the chances the figure(s) below are accurate? There's a huge gulf between $1mil and $1.5mil. Are these financials ever publicly released? Assuming an average P4 program has a $10mil yearly payroll, that'd be a big chunk for one player (that doesn't handle the ball every snap).

This is what I want to know. I want a published report straight from a players mouth how much he received from whatever school. This is absolutely crazy! This is almost pro/nfl monies. Why is it now such secret. It is legal nothing can happen to you by stating how much you got.

Back when all this money to players was under the table it always amazed me that with all those players that they never said publicly how much they received or none of their family or friends said a word.

One of the greatest secrets ever. Right up there with with the government’s secrecy on ufo’s.

Do you make it a habit of telling everyone what you make? I certainly don't

All the numbers you see are best guesses. That doesn't mean they aren't in the ballpark, but that is a major difference between college pro sports and real pro sports: College pro sports lack transparency.

When all of the revenue sharing info was being released, I do remember reading a couple points about NIL that basically said that there will finally be a formal NIL approval process and database for it beginning Fall '25

I don't know where this falls with freedom of info and all that, but I'm confident that if the data is out there, someone will get their hands on it

If/when the salaries are revealed, I wonder if it will change the narrative that it's not OK to boo college kids.

I don’t want to know, it’d just piss me off and I used to use college sports to escape all the other crap that pisses me off. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss!

Does your job have millions of people watching you doing your job and your salary being directly paid by thousands of the school you play for?
What's the difference in "being directly paid by thousands of the school you play for" and being paid by thousands of let's say maybe thousands of Toyota truck buyers paying Toyota employees by purchasing trucks? You have no right to know what those Toyota employees are paid. You are confusing State employees with athletes that are not State employees because they are being paid by willing patrons, not tax payers.

Do you work for a nonprofit with both taxpayer and donated funds to pay your salary? I would think that a public university would have a higher level of transparency. They release coaches' salaries, don't they. For privacy the disclosure report could redact names.

Surely the players have to pay taxes on the money they receive, right? Someone has to know how much they’re getting…
