So let me check this timeline.......TJ in early 2020, recovers and starts pitching again mid-2021, then throws some in 2022. 2023 goes dark, before re-emerging this year. Was he hurt in 2023?

Yes, he was out in Midland AA pitching but was hurt for most of the season. Came back to AA this season and was pitching decent, got a call up to AAA about a month ago.

Is it just me or does anyone else hesitate to call him a Bulldog with as little as he actually played for us? I remember all the hype when he came in, but it seems like he only threw a handful of innings for us.

Please feel free to roast me mercilessly if I'm wrong...

In 2019, he was national freshman of the year and made like 15+ starts. Now, 2020 he got hurt before the season was cancelled, but I think he only made 1 or 2 starts. Dude was great in '19. Ethan Small on Fridays with Ginn on Saturday was great.

I think you’re badly misremembering his freshman year. He made 17 starts and had a 100 K season. Pitched really well in Omaha in that Louisville game we lost, too.

Wow. I hope it's just you

It ain't. I feel the same as....He had a great freshman year but it doesn't seem like he took the mound till Mid March. When he left campus, I remember thinking he did 1/3 of what he should have done.

I always liked him and glad to see him make the show but remember thinking he could have done more while on campus.

He gave us six scoreless innings in a start in Omaha. How many State pitchers have done that?

If I remember, I saw him start opening weekend on Saturday in 2019 vs. Youngstown St.

In this age where Bama can claim 37 national championships, OM still has an SECW champion banner hanging, and UCF still claims a share of the 2017 title... I'm damn sure declaring JT Ginn a former Bulldog pitcher.

I've not seen many hs players spin it like JT. Anything can happen, but that slider, barring injury, should keep him in the bigs. Along with that heavy sinker.

Will Bednar gave us five before throwing the horns down if I recall correctly.
Bednar gave us six scoreless against Texas AND Vanderbilt.
