Are we not going to talk about Florida

Not to defend Florida, but it was a horrible matchup for them. How did they get matched up against a top 15 team when they were barely bowl eligible?

OSU probably ticked they were top 14 and got matched up against such a lousy team.

How any team gets to play the postseason at 6-6 is a mystery to me and I know we did it last year. How such a team winds up in a matchup against a nine-win team is a mystery to me also. Florida was terrible this year, which makes the way we lost to them all the more inexcusable. The SEC has other 6-6 teams playing so the league might be in for a rough bowl season. From that standpoint, this was an embarrassment today and probably more lie ahead.

Yeah, this was likely going to happen. Starting QB opts out. Backup a pedophile. 6-6 in Las Vegas against a Top 15 team. This isn’t the same Florida today that beat the PAC 12 Champs in September.

It’s really not a HUGE deal. Florida will be fine. Sadly we’re going to see a handful of games like this every bowl season now. There will be games, like today, where the starting QB has never stepped on the field.

the issue that needs to be discussed is how this didn’t happen until recent history. And discus how anyone can think this is good for the game of football, especially college football?

Wasn’t Fl with a 3rd string QB? I’m not sure how many of their players got sucked into the transfer portal or just wanted to sit the game out. I think that Bowls are becoming sleepy exhibition games.

I fear the same outcome for us in our Bowl since we lost a handful of starters.

How any team gets to play in the postseason at 6-6 is NO Mystery. It's about money. Just think, if SMU had the NIL to play with, back when they got the death penalty, they would have more national championships than BAMA by now.

Only if the Big Boys didn't also have it.

Just made me wish we had been on our A game for them and Mo. Those two losses loom big in the rear view mirror. Have we ever had a year where we found so much mojo so late in the year? Have we?

No, but we still have another game to play.

I loved every minute of it, add to the sarcasm from Pat McAfee due to UF deciding to kick a FG at the very end was such sweet justice.
I hate UF, HATE. (and way more than you know who)

I'm not a Florida fan, but I agree with many that the Gators were really short handed going into this game. I don't have an answer for how to limit the rash of bowl opt-outs we are seeing every year. Maybe the twelve team playoff format will help. Also I'm hoping the NCAA does something about the portal rules. Allowing players to leave their teams immediately after the conference championships is a problem. I've heard there are well over a thousand players either declaring for the draft or in the portal. I think it's really amazing if it's true that Oregon State only had one player opt-out.

To be honest though, I would have done it too. The game was over, but the streak will not end under his first year.

It just added to he humiliation. They were left with having to salvage a record that aside from UF fans no one cares about.

Dont get me wrong, there is no "right" answer, both options sucked because of the way they got manhandled.

We're just stuck debating if being shut out was worse than conceding and kicking a firld goal. They're both bad.

Back in the day, the boosters for SMU were the Real Big Boys. If you watch the 30-on-30 episodes about SMU, their coach and supporters made the other cheaters look like social workers.
I lived it; I watched it. But in the current climate, they would have no advantage. Probably they would be at a disadvantage to the legacy Big Boys.
