Who cares. Who are we to turn away a 4 star? If the guy is an athlete, he'll end up at where he's supposed to play. It's a lot more fun getting recruits with offers from Oklahoma, USC, Florida, etc. than from Alabama State, Alabama A&M, and Jacksonville State.

Regardless what postion he was being offered by other schools, Croom and staff liked him as a TB, and I think Croom is pretty good RB coach. Don't forget, LSU and Bama wanted Dixon as a FB. Go watch Conners highlight, its pretty impressive he straight line speed, and the way he hits the hole. Rosebowl said he spilt carries last year.

ESPN affiliate Web site WeAreSC.com reports that Under Armour All-American running back Montrell Conner has the USC Trojans and Mississippi State on top of his list.
The Trojans signed the Class of 2007's No. 1-rated overall prospect in running back Joe McKnight (River Ridge, La./John Curtis Christian).

Sure reads as if SC was recruiting him as a running back.

Damn, talk about times changing -- MSU going head to head against USC for a recruit... and winning??? WTF is going on around here?

I see Rebels on the spirit saying that they only recruited him as a LB and whatever else.. but seriously if we got a 4* LB with offers from all of those schools that claim to have offered him I would be pumped as well..I don't care.. promise them all time QB if you need to...

Maybe he'll make some nice tackles when Carroll throws INTs...

i've watched his highlight....why did he split carries last year? because he was playing both ways?</p>
