Ignoring Jones, Cross, and Simmons, since I am old enough to have actually watched them play. But why did none of these guys ever live up to expectations? Was it really just Croom that absolutely ruined this talent?

Norwood is probably the most exciting RB we’ve ever had. He ran a a 4.32 40 at the combine and played behind a pro bowler at the Atlanta Falcons. He could change directions without slowing down and beat Florida by himself while injured. The injury bug got him in the NFL (ACL). He was super duper fast his first three seasons in Atlanta and many people thought he should start. He led the NFL in yards per carry (over 5 ypc). He is my favorite Bulldog, no doubt.

Those highlights are hilarious. The secondary look like clowns trying to catch him.

Darren Williams (RIP) was one of the guys kicked off the team when Croom came in and cleaned house. Culberson came in as a defensive back and put on a few pounds so had to move to linebacker. Still had a solid MSU career and then played a few years in the NFL

I would say Jones, Simmons, and Cross have lived up to the hype for college and pros. Norwood is close but he was a role player for the Falcons. Never really got an opportunity as the featured RB but damn he was electric with the ball in his hands - even in the pros.

Didn't Deljuan play in the NFL for several years. Jerious Norwood definitely played in the NFL several years.
Marvin Byrdsong was a freak athlete that had a low football IQ - linebacker that just could not ever find the football.
It seems like Culberson had major knee issues that prevented him from being a superstar. He moved from corner to safety to linebacker because he lost a step. He was productive though.

I believe it was Anthony Johnson (07 Bama Pick 6) who was kicked off for that incident.

Speaking of that Pick 6, it’s often mentioned as one of the loudest DWS has ever been. It easily was at the time, but what stuck out to me was how long it stayed loud. It didn’t quiet down 10 mins into halftime.

As part of my job, I would leave the game at the end of the first quarter to start editing the game film for the coaches to review post game. I was inside the Bryan Building and heard the noise from inside my office. I took the film to Coach Croom's house and dropped it off post game and later got a call asking why the film was jumpy from the EZ perspective during AJ's Pick 6. I had to tell him because everyone was jumping up and down on the metal bleachers Coach.

I believe Norwood had the record for longest rushing touchdown for them for a short while.

If you watch the play, Today Titus Brown would have been thrown out of the game and the play called back. He caught quarterback and threw him to the ground. Heck, I am surprised that he wasn't thrown out anyway since it was against bummer.

Oops! That's right. I'm pretty sure he had a heart issue though didn't he?
Not sure. I do know Terry Licorish on the basketball team had one that never really allowed him to play, and they were both in the freshman dorm with me at the same time
