just how far behind South Carolina is compared to these two. Shane has a long way to go to get to their level. Hopefully its doable sooner rather than later.

There are a number of reasons it isn't, but I don't feel like cracking the crust on that dog crap today.

Honestly, when I watch teams like Bama, UGA, Michigan, etc play, it's almost like when I watch an NFL game on the rare occasion compared to college football. Their players are just so much bigger, quicker, faster.

Let's compare to Tennessee. I'm pretty certain that Josh Heupel inherited a worse situation than Beamer did. When Heupel was hired, bus loads of players transferred. It got so bad that the running joke was that the UT mascot was transferring. Considering all that, Heupel has done a helluva job. I liked him, Napier and Chadwell for the SC job at the time. Nepo Baby Beamer was nowhere to be found on this fan's short list. Hell, he was not even on a dissertation list. I suspect that UT is way, way ahead of us. The longer Beamer is here, the more I am reminded of a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode when Larry David was dating a very ugly City Councilwoman only to get a city ordinance passed that would greatly benefit him. As he is laying in bed with the ugly woman, he thinks to himself..... "what have i done ?..... WHAT HAVE I DONE?" Larry David represents South Carolina football.

I think Huepel peaked last year.4 losses this year and starting a new QB ag against a tough schedule next year.Actually I think Drinkowitz is better coach but it will all play out in the end.

If you watched UT's bowl, they already labeled Nico as "great" and dropped a Peyton comparison.

I agree. He's 14-10 in the SEC. 2 of the 3 years he's been there he was 4-4. At UCF he got worse every year he was HC. I don't get the Heup.....

The main difference I see is big OLineman who can move. If that can be fixed with the recruits coming in I think we have skill players to make it work.
My big takeaway from yesterday was the horrific play calling by Bama - don't think I've ever seen a worse game called by a Saban Bama team.

He only looks really good if we compare him to Beamer. Across the board, he's just done pretty good.

A couple ranked finishes, one top ten. I'd take those results.

With that said I don’t think the 20’s teams are nearly as talented as the teen’s teams. Transfer and NIl has spread the wealth. They certainly are not as deep.

Bowl announcers are masters of hyperbole. Iowa looks like they are playing football at 3/4 speed playback compared to SEC teams. Iowa also has absolutely NO offense. Their OC is the head coach's son, or at least he was the OC. I won't be surprised if he is fired before Friday.
