Assuming a team needing a QB throws money at MVB…

What should we do?

  • Pay him. Serious programs don’t let their QB walk.

If Taylor comes in he probably leaves anyway. You can’t keep both of them for long.

In this era, teams are looking for a QB year to year that they can plug in and be competitive.

Immediately.

Does MVB strike you as that guy? We have time to let him develop for a year or two because we are going to suck ***.

I doubt anybody is going to offer him a chest of gold. If they do, he maybe should take it.

We have so many glaring needs, we can’t afford to get in a big bidding war. Obviously we keep him if we can, but a QB with no supporting cast & no defense isn’t going to do much good.

Both. Serious programs will do both. And they wouldn't allow a virgin HC promote an unqualified coach to run his defense either. We are so 17ed I don't think people understand how 17ed we really are. We have amateurs running everything.

We are in bad shape. The only way to get better is to be patient, build a better team from top to bottom, and ensure everyone is on the same page. A problem in the past has been that there are too many cooks in the kitchen. I haven't heard anything that makes me think that that's going to change.

I don’t think MVB is going to jump at any offer unless it’s just something ridiculous. He decommitted from Oregon to follow lebby here

Let him walk. He’s either leaving this year or next year, no matter what. Lebby’s getting fired either on Monday, or in November of 2025….and next year is going to suck with or without MVB.

If Lebby isn’t fired immediately, every dollar spent on the 2025 roster is a dollar wasted. If we’re not firing him now because we’re too cheap to pay the buyout, then there’s no reason we should be blowing limited resources on a bunch of one year rentals. Save all that cash so the next guy has a chance in the portal before 2026.

If anybody who reads this site has any doubts about how 17'd we are, apparently they can't actually read.
