MSU's first recipient since Scott Westerfield in 2001, and only the 7th (4 male, 3 female) overall since the award began in 1986. Congratulations, Austin.
He reminds me of Fred Biletnikoff (showing my age) of the Oakland Raiders. Wasn't the fastest guy on the team but ran the best routes, always got open and never missed a pass that was catchable.
I don't want to belittle the accomplishments of a good bulldog, but he should be better at academics than other players after being in college for 8 years.**
But seriously, the drop rate is impressive. I think most fans knew he was sure handed, but I had no clue that he was top of league.
Although I'm a little unclear on what it's saying there. Is it his drop rate from 2019 forward is the best in the league? Or his 2021 drop rate was the lowest of any receiver since 2019?
