.....on who we should hire, and I admittedly got into the Casey camp when I thought there was a chance, but I'm more than happy and content with getting Cohen. John has proven himself as a head coach. He took a really crappy program that nobody cared about and he won there. If he can do it at UK, I believe he can do even greater things at MSU in time. Yes, I said in time. We still must give this man some time to get us back to the top because I don't believe he's inheriting a very good baseball program. And, unlike McMahon, I don't think he should suffer from the "following a legend" problem. The "legend" left us in miserable shape.

Good luck John Cohen. Oh, and if you don't work out, so be it, but at least for once in my life MSU actually TRIED and actually SUCCEEDED in hiring a coach from a dedicated, legitimate national search. For better or worse, this is the way Greg Byrne needed to start his tenure as AD. Congrats Greg.

getting an MSU guy whose proven he's ready for the job AND he's still young and hungry enough to want to aim for taking our program back to winning championships (hopefully even a NC). All in all, this was the hire I wanted. I was intrigued by Casey but definitely concerned over his age and West Coast roots.
