Bad news for Braves fans.

Smoltz came back from the DL Monday and was moved to the bullpen, then blew a save Monday night. Today, they announce he'll be having season-ending shoulder surgery. You have to wonder if he'll be able to come back next year or not, even though he says he wants to.

The man is practically bionic. He was on borrowed time anyway.

Hampton hasn't pitched in forever and Smoltz is out for the year. Heck, at least Chipper is playing great and Andruw Jones is playing elsewhere. Kotsay has been an upgrade.
