Stalingrad 1993Saving private Ryan as well. Only two WWII productions I’ve seen that leave you with sweaty palms as if you were there. Same with Black Hawk Down (TASK FORCE RANGER).
I'll have to check it out. Never saw itStalingrad 1993

UH Rachel and that haircut , damn fine looking . Be careful though , some in here would not appreciate that . But yes good movies in all"Hi Ho Silver!"
David Schwimer portrayal of Captain Sobel was awesome. Never a fan of the show Friends, didn't relate to it; even though I was at Penn State at the time and a third of the girls I "dated" had the Rachel Haircut. But his performance in this series made me one.
Greatest WWII Piece of all-time IMO. I know that a lot of the soldiers in Easy Company were from PA, of course including Winters but what I didn't know until I came across this video, was that Joseph Toye lived, died and is buried here in Reading. I drive by the cemetary regularly. I will now make it a point to find his tombstone and pay my respects.
Joe Toye
Staff Sergeant Joseph D. Toye (March 14, 1919 – September 3, 1995)[2] was an American soldier with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Toye was portrayed in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers by Kirk Acevedo. Toye's...military-history.fandom.com
My FIL was one of those guys. But he was in the 502 not the 506. Same deal though… parachuted in the nite before DDay… did Operation Market Garden… shot and shrapnel in thigh from grenade in the Battle of the Bulge. Great guy
Yeah, “Three Kings” absolutely rocks.I'd add 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'Three Kings' to the highly accurate portrayal of military life/experiences films. Three Kings is notable since it's mostly a lot of f*cking off, which is what soldiers are doing when they're not soldiering.
Three Kings was a fun flick... The character played by Clooney was spot on.. Major something.. We had a similar Major attached to our unit overseas once and I intermingled with him here and there..if they aren't a Battalion XO or assigned to a S shop e.g. S1=Admin, S2 =intelligence, S3 logistics and operations or S4=Supply then they are in no man's land in between commands etc.. They have fun like Clooney character..Yeah, “Three Kings” absolutely rocks.
In basic in 91’, I was at Benning=Infantry. We added “Get Some” to our cadence…so when our platoon marched and the DI would call out Left Right..each time it was Left! Right! We responded with “Get Some” it was bad *** lolFull Metal Jacket is a tremendous film that left me shaken.
