He has visited and committed to Kansas. He has not yet officially entered the portal.

I clearly don't understand the rules, but it seems like scholarship players should not be able to quit midseason, take visits to other schools and commit to them. Does this mean Kansas has offered? Unofficially offered? Can you offer a player who isn't even in the portal?

Same, I'm as confused as you are.

The only thing I can think of is if the portal means schools can't contact the players. But players can still contact schools outside the portal times?

I certainly hope we aren't paying for him to be in class rn (if he is still taking classes).

Yeah, maybe that's how that part works. If he's committed, though, Kansas obviously has tendered some kind of "offer" however unofficial that might be. He wouldn't commit there if he wasn't sure that he was a take for them.

Me trying to figure out transferring in 2024:

Maybe since he quit, he technically isn't on a team anywhere so he is free to visit and be offered scholarships anywhere he wants?

At this point, he is simply a student at the University of South Carolina, he isn't on the football team.
