I believe I argued a while back that PG's ranking that had us in the 40s was ridiculous.

Here is your top 10. You may recognize a few schools:

1. South Carolina
2. Vanderbilt
3. Mississippi
4. Oklahoma
5. Southern California
6. Miami, Fla.
7. Louisiana St.
8. Florida
9. Oregon St.
10. Stanford

State supported in-state scholarships in Mississippi like some of the other SEC states have that we MSU baseball fans always complain about is just killing Ole Miss baseball recruiting.

And how did Arkansas not make the Top 10 with the unreal signee list they had? Did they all sign MLB contracts?

OMs 11 class combined with their projected 2012 class, they should be pissed if they don't go to Omaha within 3 years.

Thing is, we have some advantages as well that a lot of other schools, namely other SEC teams don't have. We have to take advantage of what we do have and not worry about what we don't. We can only control our situation and ourselves.

For example, Georgia may have the HOPE scholarship, but they don't have the facilities, fan support, general interest, and etc. that we have. All of those are huge advantages for us.

To me, it's sort of like the Yankees and say the Brewers. Both are successful teams. Both have things that are to their advantage and other things that are not to their advantage.

As far as baseball recruiting rankings and disparities- baseball recruiting is probably the most inexact of all the "recruiting services". Not saying that they are totally way off base all the time- I actually agree with the number 20 ranking- but there are definately some WTF? like PG ranking us 40 and Arkansas not being higher than they were.
