This team struggles with pressure and intensity, as many teams do. They are not relaxed and comfortable.

1) They feel too much pressure at the 3 point line, and if a few shots don't fall, it gets worse
2) They feel too much pressure at the free throw line, and if a few shots don't fall, it gets worse
3) They feel too much pressure in the first half of the game, and if a few shots don't fall or the other team goes on a run, it gets worse
4) When the game is winding down, they play better because they have nothing to lose at that point

Mentally, this team is not prepared for pressure, the more pressure, the worse they perform offensively. Defensively and rebounding however is better than average.

So the team needs a psychologist?

Probably feel less pressure if Hubbard was in the starting lineup instead of us opening the first 9 minutes of every game with 8 points.

College basketball is a guards game. Our guards are well below par. And Tulo isnt as good as we think.

We don’t guard well at all. 43 first half points last night. Thats where we lost the game.
I agree that when we don't have early success in the game we tend to fold a little. We fold a little too much to the momentum on the road.

Its the emotions related to pressure and as we fail with missing shots, it snowballs. Much worse on the road, and again we are not the only team that deals with this. But we keep shooting 3's and missing them and also freak out when we miss free throws and start missing more and more.

I can't think of a better term but it is like we spiral down too easily emotionally and aren't mentally positive unless we have all the momentum.

That being said, momentum at home is good usually, but then the Bama game we missed almost every damn free throw in the 2nd half and its just maddening to see that get worse in a close game. Especially when we had a great chance at winning if we make most of our FREE THROWS.
