Unless policymakers and/or lawmakers get their heads together to bring some order to college sports, I think more outcomes like this are inevitable. It's hard enough to succeed in the college football arena; the number of coaches in a position to do it is being reduced markedly. I never thought I would live to see the day when being an NFL coach is clearly better than being a major college head coach, putting aside income considerations.Sucks for BC with Spring Ball less than 3 months away. I fear this is going to become more common place in the immediate future.
Sadly, with the exception of the very elite few, there is very little advantage. The only ones who will stay are either 1) In big Legacy programs, or 2) the others who aren't afforded the NFL opportunity.The essential fabric of college football has been destroyed.
