"I got thrown out of six games this year. I got thrown out of three games in Kentucky and what happened basically was Saturday the umpire calling balls and strikes was the worst I had ever seen on calling balls and strikes," claims No. 1. "So he heaves me out of the ballgame and it was a pretty big crowd that day for Lexington, Kentucky. As I look around every seat is sold and I asked where do you expect me to go? You threw me out of the ballgame but where in the world do you expect me to go? He said I don't know anything about you and where you want to go, but I want you to go somewhere that I can't see you……. so I walked over and stood on home plate."

I enjoyed his little conversation with a reporter a few years ago where the reporter said something about it being against the rules to smoke inside the ballpark and Polk lit a cigar and asked him who's name was on the damn park. He's gone and it was time but he is one hell of a character and I'll miss his stories and one liners.
