For what it's worth, after reading this, I contacted a huge OU fan who is on the investment site I'm on. He said he has not heard anything about this and would be surprised if OU fired Venables so soon. He said the mistake BV made was hiring former OU players as assistants, who don't have the experience to coach at this level. He said BV needs to bring in an OC, who needs to bring in a good OL coach.

As for Beamer, I think he has done an admirable job this season. It has been pretty much what I expected. I said on this site that we would not do worse than 7-5 and just about everyone was skeptical of that thought. This is his 4th season, after all. Shouldn't we have expected a good season? If we run the table, I could see interest in Beamer by others. Even if we finish 8-4, I could see interest in him. 7-5? No. But, supposedly this is Beamer's "dream job" and, he "wants" to be here. So, what's the concern? ;)

I would bet that if Oklahoma makes a change and Kentucky makes a change, that Kentucky would be the one to check on Beamers interest. Oklahoma would probably look for an offensive minded HC like Chadwell (not saying he would get the job but could see him get interest).

I also think that Clark Lea from Vandy will be one of the hottest names on the “looking for a head coach” circuit.

Yeah, this "article" is just a random fan's opinion.

Unless Beamer wins out and finishes the season 9-3 I don't think we have to worry too much about any teams really coming after him.

Now, if he manages 8 wins this season and follows it up next season with another 8 or 9 win season, we might find out how much he really likes it here when some other programs start throwing big dollars at him.

Other than maybe Lea and Stoops, he's go the best spot in college football. If he averages 7-5 for 10 years and goes to bowls, he'll be revered as one of the best ever.

How sad is that. 7-5 for 10 years.
Anywhere else that possess a modicum of self respect would end that experiment after 3 years max

If you actually feel this way you are either a tater or do not want the program to ever be successful. Beamer has it on the right track and has a passion to be here.
Yeah, I think the majority are a bit tired of the snark attitude. Lets just move on or move out.

Veneables isn’t going anywhere this soon, but the seat is getting hot for sure. Beamer isn’t going anywhere either, not this year. Sign the WR class we have coming in and let’s see. Yes, his seat is warm , but not hot, and I’m ok with that
