Beamer vs Kiffin contract extension/raise

On the heels of an 8-4 (4-4) season that saw them lose 4 of their last 5 games, Ole Miss has signed Kiffin to an 8 year deal that will pay him north of $9 million/year. They had one top 10 win this year over UK who is not currently ranked.

Beamer, likewise, went 8-4 (4-4), but won 2 of 3 down the stretch, knocking of two top 10 teams back-to-back in the process...two teams that are still in the top 10. He is also due an extension and raise. Currently makes $2.75 million/year.

I believe both are represented by Sexton. He will certainly try to leverage what Ole Miss paid Kiffin into a substantial increase for Beamer.

They should double his salary and call it a day.

Kiffin had been an HC before. I understand his season didn't end on a good note. But he was already making more than Beamer. Thus his raise is for more. I mean if they didn't want to retain Kiffin, someone else would be happy to oblige him.

In fairness, Kiffin lost an all star qb and the back up did not play nearly as well. Hurt them down the stretch.
