but here are my thoughts on some things realted to Germany.

I knew that Polk would back off a little bit. His players are his family and if he ran them off, he would have no one. I'm also not surprised that his attempt to take his name off of the stadium failed/was reconsidered by him.

Tommy Raffo and MSU will come out better in the long run because of all of this. He would have clearly been Polk's puppet, which I believe was his motivation for naming him his successor in the first place. With Polk running things behind the scenes, it would have been only a matter of time before we ran Raffo and the Legend off, and we would have had the same Polk tantrum except our program would be four more years behind. Thank you Greg Byrne! Also, to throw in a rumor, from a reliable source, Raffo had the opportunity to go to Notre Dame to replace Manieri. Polk then promised Raffo the job at that time, despite what he told Ellis.

Lane Burroughs sounds like a keeper. Hopefully we can land Melvin at Virginia, but I probably will be OK with whoever Cohen brings in, as long as they're not named McNickle.

Lastly, I see where the baseball camps have been canceled for this year, probably will return next year, I assume. If I'm a Diamond Girl, I'm a little bit concerned right now.

1. the rumor....holy crap.

2. the camps... i think they had no other choice considering the major transition that was happening. polk being a bastard didn't help one bit either.

question: have they ever not had a camp because of coaching changes? just curious.
