I was just reading an article about the most popular beer in every state. Mississippis most popular beer was Lazy Magnolia so that itself makes the article a farce but over half the states listed Budweiser as its most popular beer. I do not know a single person who drinks Budweiser. I don’t recall even seeing anyone drink a leaded Bud in dozens of years. Does anyone here actually drink Budweiser? Just curious.

I know two people. Ironically, they are both really really skinny. It very random to find a bud drinker.

If a Budweiser is around, I'll definitely drink it.

But I don't buy it.

The old school guys would drink Bud or Michelob back in Mississippi. I rarely drank beer but that was their go-to I kept in the shop fridge for visiting beer drinkers. It used to be popular with that crowd but I can't say what is popular back home.

The current citified folk here in Austin would probably never touch those brands and make fun of those who did.

I love Budweiser, but as I’ve gotten older it treats me worse and worse so I rarely drink it anymore. Unless I’m at a Cardinals game, and then it’s basically a requirement.

across USA, bud light lost 23% in the last 4 weeks, ($68M). biggest winner was modelo, they gained 15%, $50M.

Here is a often overlooked reminder of the racial %'s of the USA. The buying power of hispanics is much larger than people realize.

  • White 75.8%
  • Hispanic 18.9%
  • Black 13.6%
  • Asian 6%
  • Native Tribes 1.3%

At a Cubs game, where it's Old Style or Bud, give me Bud. And then point me toward the nearest toilet.

MS's demographics are unique as we have the least percentage of White People and highest percentage of African Americans. For white folks in the 'Sip, I'd say that Mic Ultra would be up there (prior to the Bud Light boycott), for African Americans there is a higher level of Malt Liquor consumed, but as far as regular beer, I'd say Miller.

Political boycotts are silly in my opinion. That said, I've been boycotting Budweiser since before we started boycotting Outback. It has more to do with it being horse piss than anything else.

I do like Stella Artois, which is an AB beer, though.

I have two friends that still drink Bud Diesel; one more than the other.

20 years ago that's all about all I drank & I smoked Cowboy Killers (Marlboro Reds). I guess I was go big or go home. Over time I went down to Marlboro Mediums and Bud Select, then Lights and Bud Light. No, I moved on from BL long before the current issue. Now it's Natty Light and l'm down from 3 packs a day of Marlboro Lights to about 5 cigarettes a day.

I generally prefer non-light beer, so I have chosen a Bud Heavy over Light on many an occasion where options were limited. Though I would heavily prefer a Coors Original or Yuengling. MGD is better than Bud Heavy too IMO.

I do not know a single person. It also depends on how the question was asked as the the result. I could see a lot of people saying Lazy Mag is their favorite, but it not being what they buy the most of because of cost? LM makes some good beers. Founded by an EE and a ChemE from MSU.

One guy in our LFL during baseball drinks only Budweiser, he says that way nobody ever wants to bum one from him.

I've been watching the beer section at little Walmart grocery in Starkville and man, the shelves are ALWAYS full of ALL Bud products lately. I had my doubts this boycott stuff was real but either the Bud distributor is really on top of their game and keeps the shelves absolutely full there or nobody is buying it.

I love a yellow can Coors or a Miller High Life but I can’t stand a Bud or Bud Light. The only AB product that I ever really drank on a regular basis was Michelob Dark. I haven’t even seen one of those in years.

I consider Miller High Life drinkers as rare of a sighting as Bud. You have intestinal fortitude that should not be questioned.

Where I go to the dentist there is a store on the corner that has 24oz High Life cans on ice at the door for $1.29. It’s my reward to myself for being a good boy at the dentist and not having any cavities.

I don’t drink beer as frequently as I used to, as I sit in bar in Providence RI drinking some local double IPA (pretty good)

when I drink I prefer an IPA but when it’s hot I can’t drink anything that heavy. For years I was a Bud heavy guy and early in the football season and never had to worry about the college kids stealing my s h I t. Now a days I keep bud light in the fridge for yard days.

A friend of mine once told me that High Life tastes like a blended up cheeseburger...while I was drinking one. I've never been able to stomach one since.

I hope I didn't ruin @Dawgbite 's post-dentist treat.

Wash down a box of oreos with one of those BEFORE you go to the dentist and you will get a lot more attention from the hygenist.

If I've ever had Bud Light it was at an event where it was the only option provided. I don't know if I've ever had a Bud Heavy.

I'll tell you exactly where all the Budweiser goes:

The daily itinerary of a Mexican construction/landscape worker on a Tuesday in Texas:
5:30 AM wakeup
6:00 - Leave house
6:30 - Stop at 7-11 and fuel up truck, go inside and get a Jarritos and some weird knock off prepackaged snack cake
submarinos-marinela-strawberry-cream-filled-cakes-8-pastelitos-26.jpg
7:00 - Show up at jobsite, throw plastic wrapper and Jarritos bottle on ground, and get after it.
11:00 - Head back to 7-11 and stand in a long line of other Mexican construction workers to warm a couple of tortillas and some beans the wife made at home for lunch. After finishing the microwave conga line, head over to the cooler to grab 2 Budweiser skull crushers and head back to jobsite.
11:45 - After finishing the lunch, smoke a cig with El Jefe and pound the skull crusher. Finish Budweiser and leave the empty in between the studs so the drywall guy can cover it up later.
Screen Shot 2023-06-12 at 3.02.27 PM.png
12:00 Get back after it.
2:30 Afternoon smoke and Budweiser break. Set empty beside previous Bud.
4:00 Head home and stop by 7-11 to get 12 pack of Budweiser on the way.
5:00 Arrive home and drink those Buds while abuelita is in the kitchen with the wife making a tamal de cazuela.
6:00 Eat dinner and have a few more Budweisers before jumping in the shower and putting on a crisply pressed black wrangler jeans, fresh western shirt, black Stetson, and a pair of snakeskin boots with a toe so pointy you would knock out a tooth if you kicked someone in the *******.
7:00 Grab the last 2 Budweisers for the road as and jump in the personal truck you called "El Vaquero" to head out for the evening.
7:30 Stop back by 7-11 to gas up El Vaquero and another grab another 6 pack of Budweiser for late night.
Screenshot_20230611-112749_copy_974x540.png
8:00 Arrive at the lounge at an old Ramada in and pound Budweiser with a few other Mexican guys for a few hours.
10:30 Leave the Ramada and head to the dance hall to meet the wife and her friends for dancing. Work on the sixer waiting for her to get 40 selfies with her chicas. 17ing place is in a strip center next to Staples and even though everything else is closed, your walk is so long there's time for another Bud.
1000s.jpg
11:00pm Drink Bud draft until 1am dancing with the wife.
1:15am Drink one more bud waiting for the parking lot to clear out and heading home.
1:45 Get home and drink half your last Bud leaving half empty before waking up in 3 and half hours and doing it all again.

I was with some friends in a London pub around the year 2000. I think we came in second or third in a trivia contest and we were given Budweisers. We gave them to some gals at the table over but they didn't return the favor in any way.

your friend has been printing money from michelob ultra. It’s far and away the best seller for MS distributors. Bud heavy has been done as a top performer for decades.
Bud light was right behind ultra in this market.

I haven't seen a pony in a long time.
Man, a couple of 8 packs of pony’s, take the top off the Jeep and hit the back roads. I could tell you where the bottle was going to hit the road sign. The left handed hook shot at the little bitty bridge warning signs was my specialty.

That's too funny. I almost posted the exact same thing. You can learn a lot about physics from launching pony bottles at street signs. I had to go over the cab of a truck to hit the target, but I was pretty accurate 55mph and under. 45 was the sweet spot. The level of stupidity that we lived through...

Lemme let yall in a little-known cocktail that's perfect for summer: Get you a 12 pack of High Life, ice them down real cold, get a bottle of Aperol (or Campari if you prefer boozier and less sweet) and ice it down too. Open a High Life, take a nice swig, then fill it back up with Aperol. Just a perfect pool/deck/boat beverage.
