I don't 100% understand how it all works, but was this BB just 'buying' his son a job? $10mill is nothing to BB, I'm sure - especially if the Cowboys eat it. Who even is his son, and what are his coaching credentials? I've never heard of him. I'd like to see what BB could do at the cowboys, and it would be a bonus for UNC to get sacked with a 'name' for a coach who ends up sucking. (Or maybe he works out and is a great hire - who knows?)

Shane was hired based on his last name. I don't think he was on anyone's radar as a potential P5 head coach when he was hired.

The whole thing is nutz. He's 72 and dates a 20-something. He hasn't won much recently and clearly isn't at the peak of his coaching prowess. The whole, "I'm the CEO and we're going to turn UNC into an NFL pipeline" seems like a big con.

Yes, this is BB buying his son a HC gig and giving him a jumpstart on rebuilding. After June 1, the buyout goes down $9M. I may be wrong, but that's a weird contract detail.
