I hope people catch the juxtaposition. Despite what you think of them, they definitely have distinctly different styles when addressing the media.
Who exactly is this writer? Pointing out that Franklin not once, but twice, stated he takes full responsibility for the loss for not having them prepared. There were several other threads here from the haters claiming he never accepted responsibility. Obviously, some people only hear what they want to hear.I hope people catch the juxtaposition. He’s a former, or current journalism Prof at PSU. He’s heavily tied into the various cliques of State College. I have not liked his columns in general, but I have to say this was a decent one.Who exactly is this writer? So according to this article CJF is calling red zone plays?
Well it's clear from the article that he called one which he conceded bombed. Rather that has happened on other occasions who knows? So according to this article CJF is calling red zone plays?

Or only read what they want to readObviously, some people only hear what they want to hear.
I went back and watched the press conference from Saturday sober this time.Um, he's talking about Bill O'Brien - not Franklin. The whole time I'm reading the article I'm wondering why no names are being mentioned; it's to set up a terrific plot twist with the video of O'Brien's presser at the end.

Yes. As I said above, troll job by Poorman.Did either of you actually read the full article with comprehension?
Yes. As I said above, a brutally honest troll job by Poorman.
Driving, cleaning a gun or working with sharp instruments you need to be sober. Watching a Franklin presser not so much.I went back and watched the press conference from Saturday sober this time.

I wonder how he would have done without both of his arms tied behind his back. As it was he did OK.OB was a great coach.
Interesting perspective(s). I don’t care for either of those men personally (less so for Day…at least he doesn’t eat his own boogers), but both have shown when given adequate tools, they can coach physical, non-gimmicky football. More-so than our current coach can anyways.Who among us is willing to admit that if Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff took over this Penn State roster, maybe a few months ago, that Penn State would likely be 6-0 right now? And who among us is willing to admit that if Ryan Day and his staff took over this roster a few months ago, then Penn State would likely be looking at the playoffs in a few months?
Not enough talent. Could those coaches win more games with this squad? Maybe but we are still a 10-15 program across the depth chart and what you saw last Saturday was the divide. Harbaugh has been able to string enough big bodies together to play 5-10 football as if they were the '85 Bears. He'll get out athleted if he gets into a playoff under the current system. I give him credit for giving them a chance unlike us. We have no chance of being 12-0, 11-1 imho -- Allar/Singleton and DDS/Rojas need more help for '23 and '24.Who among us is willing to admit that if Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff took over this Penn State roster, maybe a few months ago, that Penn State would likely be 6-0 right now? At least Franklin takes a moment to thank the media in attendance for covering Penn State football before beginning.
I’ve always found that odd, although it is polite. I thought these people were paid to cover the team and the games. I guess he’s just nicely preparing them for the fact that he has no intention of answering any relevant questions. At least Franklin takes a moment to thank the media in attendance for covering Penn State football before beginning.
Straight talk from a PSU coach. Who’d have thunk it!It is really striking to watch the video that was posted with the article in it's entirety.
Thanks for posting , yes it is a good article .
O’Brien is the best coach we have had in the post scandal era.
It is a shame he got sick of Jay and his band of merry sycophants, and thus decided to head off to Houston.
Thus we are where we are.
Nutshell: a great many people believe that Franklin and ONLY franklin could get the likes of Singleton and Allar and Allen etc to psu... so without the God of very Gods, these players would not be assembled for the devine powers to design, develop, and run plays that actually work and make us the 8-4 team we were always meant to be.Not enough talent. It wasn't Jay. More complicated than that. If you want to point a finger at one individual try Fester.O’Brien is the best coach we have had in the post scandal era.
