He had two good QB's most of his NFL career. Once he didn't have a good QB, he kind of sucked. I guess that is true for most NFL coaches. He is in a different world now. Saban coaching did not translate to pros I wonder is his style of coaching going to translate to college

His age will hurt NC in the long run. Very iffy hire. They will get lots of attention but a boring hire.

I wouldn't mind starting with a former professional if I were putting any program together. If we both knew that we were eventually a program, someone else would run it. I don't think seriously that he believes he should be coaching in 10 years. Especially when you consider what college football is like now: a business instead of a school program.

If any of ya'll watched him on the Manning-cast Monday night, to me, he looked kinda lost all night. Probably couldn't keep up with Paintin's witty banter. When he understood the question, he was good.

I wouldn't swap Lebby for him today. And it's not because I think Lebby is doing a good job.

UNC is so loaded they will buy Bill any help with NIL he needs. He won't have to recruit except making the final handshake with the player and his family.

I read that part of the argeement was that UNC would increase their NIL budget from $4 million a year to $20 million a year. I definitely think they plan on running it like an NFL program with Bill being coach and GM which is what he wanted from an NFL team but couldn't get.

Hope you boys enjoy minor league sports because that's where we are headed....better hope the schools somehow don't ever get too detached from the new model.

He can manage... and that is what college football is heading for... less coaching, more team management.

There is still a large majority of football fans who think nothing has changed with college football. There is nothing really that you would worry about.
Agreed. Been listening to the talking heads today and they all what to point to all the pro coaches that did not do well in college. One host did point out that any of those that are before 2019 don't really count because it was totally different. One guy was saying how Belichick is going to have to find a QB. The host then pointed out that he doesn't have to wait to see if one is available when their pick comes up in the draft or that he fits within the salary cap as a free agent.

Basically Bill can probably get any QB he wants. He won't be subject to all the checks and balances of the Pro game.
