Boy, the WNBA and media are DESPERATELY trying to build up Clark and Reese as a modern incarnation of a classic NBA rivalry like Bird/Johnson (Bird/Laimbeer). It's almost as scripted at WWF was.

I do not.You watch that crap?!
You're on twitter?!I do not.
However, my Twitter is basically sports journalists who do follow it.
Yep.You're on twitter?!

Eventually Clark will be severely injured. If I were her I would get out of the circus. Now.I do wonder how much of this is put on by the league.
Think about it. If you're the wnba, you've never been able to get significant eyes on your product enough to actually make money.
You got a big bump from Clark for some reason, but that'll disappear fast. So you need a villain. You need the Bird/Johnson rivalry, or just something more than "come watch Clark play".
I wouldnt be surprised if the league was fostering this "rivalry". It's working short term. I get annoyed with all the talk, and I never go looking for wnba talk. It's just being pushed in all venues now.
Stop. It was Caitlin Clarks flagrant foul that started the ruckus this time. Good way to lean on a narrative though. ....and get out of there to play where? Any way you slice it, she is going to be playing with a lot of the same players. No, what she needs to do is stand up for herself. Had no problem with the foul. However, why is she walking away like she did something wrong. You didn't want Reese to get the basket and you made a take foul. Stand on it and dare Reese to do something. They bother her because she gives off an air that she can be intimidated.Eventually Clark will be severely injured. If I were her I would get out of the circus. Now.![]()
You quoted me when all I said was eventually she will be severely injured. And in my opinion doesn't need to be in the wnba. If she just wants to then fine. You added everything else because you can not help yourself.Stop. It was Caitlin Clarks flagrant foul that started the ruckus this time. So like animals they can just smell it in the air? Go on.They bother her because she gives off an air that she can be intimidated.
There's no question mark but that sounds like a question. The video I saw was Clark walking away from a clearly out of control Reese. That's called actually having the capability to control one's self and having the intelligence to know when to do so.However, why is she walking away like she did something wrong.
All i know is Larry Bird was in the same situation. He stood up for himself. Even got in a fight with Dr. J and that stuff stopped. I know these are women and all, but competition sparks confrontation. When competitors see that you will shy away from confrontation, people will walk all over you. Angel Reese got decked by Alyssa Thomas last year and she laid on the ground and had no response. Caitlin guves a hard foul and it's WWIII. it's because a lot of players think they can get her to back down with so called being out of control. Angel wasn't going to do anything. So, let her know you won't back down. Caitlin is going to have to handle this. There's no question mark but that sounds like a question. I really want to know more about this smell in the air thing you were talking about. Do any other players besides Clark produce this pheromone? Are white players unable to detect this substance or are they also losing control towards Clark? I don't watch except for the occasional clip. All i know is Larry Bird was in the same situation. So, an All-White League? I am sure that may have some novelty for awhile and for some. However, how many players are going to actually opt for that and how many teams would you actually be able to support to make a league? I know being able to adapt to a minority situation is foreign to many, but you can do it if you stand up for yourself. Of course, there is racism that will arise from many angles, but cowards run. Many on here get mad at me for even entertaining the issue of race or racism. I acknowledge its existence, but I don't dare run from it. I have no choice but to navigate within it and confront it when I deem necessary. Caitlin chose basketball. She was was born in 2002. So, I am sure she grew up knowing that basketball is a sport where the majority of the professional players in this country are African-American or of color. Current statistics indicate that 70% of the players in the WNBA identify as African-American and 81% are of color. So, she knew what the deal was. Knowing that, she has to navigate through that and confront when necessary. There will be some that will continue to be a problem, but most will grow to respect her as she navigates through. She can't play victim though and she has to confront issues when necessary or people will see that as weakness and try to use it to their advantage. I would tell my son this same thing if were trying to play baseball or play golf on a high level. It's funny. Dave Portnoy actually said if Clark wanted to, and if she got fed up enough with it all, she could quit the WNBA, start her own league and put the WNBA out of business in 5 years. And he's probably right. She's all the WNBA has going for it right now. They'd be up the creek if she left and they couldn't play the racial angle between her and Reese.
I have no doubts if she did that, she'd get sufficient financial backing to make it happen. Obviously she won't because she'd be called a racist for doing it, but she could singlehandedly kill the WNBA if she wanted.

And as you should know by now, I will continue to interject whatever issue I want when I want. You can't guilt trip me into not addressing issues. I have always had to confront them, Lurker or no Lurker.Where did he say "all white", Al Bundy? Why does a league started by a white woman have to be all white?
And as shown above, you also interject it where it doesn't belong in order to try and argue.

It's probably coming from a little bit of both. She is going to be alright. She has had two relatively minor dust-ups in two years. If you know basketball, both issues was a whole lot of nothing. I disagree with you a little though. You can't fight everything with love and Caitlin knows that. Caitlin is a very aggressive player that will elbow you and push you around if you let her. However, she seems to shy away when she gets that aggression in return. It is showing a measure of weakness IMO. I am only aggressive when I am not facing a challenge. Is the issue her skin color or orientation?
She's obviously in the minority in both categories, so the persecution could be coming from either group... or both.
The next time someone gets up in her face to start something, maybe she should just grab them by the back of the head and lay a big wet one on their lips and see if that diffuses it.
Fight hate with love.
I joined Twitter the day we beat #1 Bama while I sat waiting for my daughter to get a makeover in the Bippety Boppety Boutique at Disneyworld. I joined to be in on all the sports scuttlebutt. But no matter how hard I tried I always ended up getting cussed out by some loser about something that didn't matter. I deleted my account a couple times, then finally, permanently.Yep.
Good way to get quick recruiting news.

Will you be using Dabo's weenie? Not that it couldn't work, mind you.![]()
Just to set the record straight, my suggestion was a tongue-in-cheek remark playing on the obvious orientation of many of the other players.

Well, playing the victim card seems the endless play for the wnba. But if that finally gets old for most people, your idea would actually explode the exposure. Short term at least.
Now see that Clark is out at least 2 weeks with an injury and the WNBA and networks are absolutely panicking over what will happen to ratings in that time.
Yeah, the game against whoever Angel Reese plays for had get-in tickets for $88 prior to her injury. Now they are going for $25.Co worker was commenting how ticket prices for games she was in dropped a ton when they announced her injury.
The dynamic of a league being propped up by a single player that the rest of the league seemingly hates may be interesting. But it's still the wnba......
