GMs who MESS up QB situation SURE get coaches fired!! Ron Rivera sure is a fine coach but QB position is a mess. So many other NFL teams have a horrible situation. Carolina has a problem there but interim coach has done well. Ind, NO, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Washington, and probably a few others are in trouble at QB, and the Jets who the heck knows what they will do. See what happens in NFL draft but never enough to go around to all these teams.
Kliff Kingsbury and Lovie Smith. Both AZ and Houston have a lot of rebuilding work to do before they can think about winning, and I would be surprised if the respective owners think either is the right guy under those circumstances.
Not to bring this up for the sake of bringing this up, but I haven’t yet seen any clarity regarding Jim Harbaugh’s intentions towards accepting an NFL job were he offered one.
Me neither. But I hope he gets one and takes it. I think that would certainly help us in recruiting and on the field, depending on who replaces him.
One thing about Rivera: he got a lot of criticism about starting Wentz last week but he absolutely had no choice. Henicke had proved he wasn’t up to the task, and Rivera absolutely had to give Wentz a shot. Henicke would probably have given the Commanders a better shot of winning the game but Henicke isn’t a playoff quarterback. They had to find out if Wentz could do it for them. Howell starts tomorrow, another Henicke at best is my current take.

Lane Kiffin probably owns a moving company. It would be a smart investment for how much he moves.

Yea. I have always liked Lovie Smith and think he's probably a really good guy but he's just failed badly. I thought he could get Illinois decent but I was way wrong on that.
Yeah. The Washington ownership uncertainty will spare him. Whomever buys that team will want their own choice as coach.

There’s usually a surprise or two. Possibilities there include New Orleans, Atlanta, LA Rams (McVay’s choice to step away) and Seattle (Carroll is getting up there and may step away).
I would take it for 5 million a year for 5 years...do a lousy job, get canned after one year and stay home for 20 million. I am a bargain!
I’d be surprised if Snyder sells the team anytime soon. Here’s my prediction: Snyder will be Washington’s owner come the first game of the 2023 season.

I think there are 2 questions in terms of where coaches will end up. Where does Sean Payton end up, and where does Jimmah end up.

That’s my point. But that uncertainty gives Rivera a stay of execution for as long as a sale takes.
You have to be impressed at how the Colts players responded after Reich was let go. I’m not sure it’s a bad place for JH.
What difference does it all make? These coaching vacancies are just going to be filled by someone who was fired somewhere else in the last couple of seasons.
I don’t get how he keeps getting jobs. He just seems to have a perpetually befuddled look on his face.
