Bo was advocating for us to hire Geoff Collins this morning. Wasn't his defense at UNC terrible this year?
Somewhat humorous when Rosebowl said 2024 was a 5-6 win team, but Shapen's injury ruined that. WTF? Shapen lost to Toledo.
We might have been a three-win team if he did not fumble the ball in the ASU game.
Ha. Geoff Collins and Todd Grantham... so two guys that have left and subsequently been fired other places.

Of course he says that. You have to know they're not going blame bad coaching hires and poor recruiting for the mess we're in.

Shiiii. This team couldn’t have won 6 games with zero injuries and the opposing coaching staffs placing their own big bets on themselves to lose.

They did fire their head coach. Gtech seems to be doing better without him too. Durkin was just okay at Auburn this year. I will add they were a hell of a lot better than us on defense. Can't tell me there isn't a hungry g5 coordinator out there with a kick asss defense we could hire
Rosebowl uses the 50/50 line to cover his butt. He will not come out and give and actual prediction because he is planning to spin it to make it look like he was in the know. That is his game since his contacts moved on the Auburn. I have been told from someone that is very close to people in power in the Seal and Bryan building that Rosebowl is not popular.
It's a lot. Plenty, actually, if we had good product to show and good recruiters to show it.
Can we get rid of him like we did Stingray?
It’s not plenty. Just look at who’s committing to us. It’s pretty pathetic. Only other explanation is we’ve intentionally decided to tank the next year or two.
Well, there is another answer... we could simply have really bad/lazy recruiters. Which is what I'm hearing from "people who know" FWIW.
I'm sure that's a big piece of the problem too. Our football program ever since Leach died has been like one long episode of the Three Stooges. But not a funny one.
Ehh, recrootin is pretty much gonna look the same no matter who is coach. I honestly do think most coaches can look around and figure out real quick what the best avenues are to find talent at MSU.
I bag on Lenny a lot but at MSU, to me, it's generally been about being a competent coach and just making sure the team had no gaping holes. Though I will say Lenny screwed up by running off the younger defensive talent we had coming back, and replacing them with bums.
Even Croom recruited decently, after his first year. But of course, that's what separates the good ones and bad ones right? The ones that go the extra mile and get that transition class right, and also don't leave the holes (example - Croom never got a QB).
But in general........most of our classes look similar and I won't use that as corroborating evidence against Lenny.
Recruiting rankings are generally about the same. Primarily because the ones doing the rankings have an idea of about where they think schools "should" recruit and skew their player rankings that way. But the actual recruiting classes are very different. Some are very good and some are very bad. Looking at this class, outside a couple of players, it doesn't look good.

Sell their soul for the 12th ranked defense in the weak azz ACC? Do you know who the 11th ranked defense just ahead of Collins was? No? It is Florida freakin State. That's right, Collins defense is ranked worse than 2-10 Florida State. Even as horrible as we were, at least 2-10 in SEC sounds a hell of a lot better than FL St at 2-10 in their weak azz conference.
I made the half azz argument in another thread that we had fallen farther in two years than anybody.
You've made me realize that isn't true. FSU fell farther in a single season than we have in two. And our coach died. And they're in 17'n Florida. Pretty unbelievable incompetence.
