If you will go back and look its part of a series of articles stating the case for each candidate. That's something like the fourth one they have done

Since Brackey took over:
  1. 3-1 record in Football with Egg Bowl Victory
  2. Undefeated in Men's basketball
  3. First ever NCAA tournament win in women's soccer
  4. Strong start for Women's basketball
  5. NIL fundraising has increased dramatically due to his leadership
I mean he's making a case for himself.
6. No known self-reported ncaa violations.

But aren't the first 4 irrelevant to who the AD is? Under his watch, yes, but did he do anything to make them happen?

We need an experienced AD from outside the family.
This. Go out there and get the best guy we can. Stop promoting from within m. Your department gets stagnant that way. You can hire a guy that has worked with us in the past but go and get someone with experience at s few other schools and done well.

kick the tires on several sitting ADs and several associates.

The hire will likely be no different than it was with Cohen - cigar boys hand picking the guy they want to deal with. Perhaps some minor input from Keenum.

So you're saying we had Brackey on the wrong job all those years?

247 is making a case for him. You got to be kidding
He’s getting a courtesy interview. That’s pretty much it. He’s been a valued contributor to our athletic department for years and this is probably nothing more than Keenum covering his bases. We have hired a search firm to come up with qualified candidates to present to Keenum for consideration. With all the problems that our (and everyone else’s) athletic departments are facing with free agency (transfer portal) and pay-for-play (NIL) it’s going to be a pretty critical hire and Keenum has to get this right. Therefore, it won’t be an MSU insider.
