I've seen FU play several times this year, and came away impressed each game. Even if they lose, what a performance. I support Lamont, and he should get his chance. But it's baffling to me Richey wasn't qualified and Lamont was. I guess maybe his time as an assistant at WISC set him apart?? Who knows. One thing is certain, FU just plays better basketball than we do.

Pathetic, ain't it? The flagship university in the state has, hands down, the worst basketball coach.

I wouldn't go that far. As bad as it was, Paris exceeded expectations. As good as Richey looks, he did inherit a solid program built by Medved. Paris inherited a saturday morning YMCA squad. I think he's got a lot of potential, but Richey looks very impressive.

I was very impressed hearing Bob Richey talk basketball in a interview for over ten minutes, at the start of the season, makes you wonder what Tanner looks at and really values in his hiring process.

A miracle shot got Darrin Horn the job, and a miracle shot got Paris the job...so, miracle shots. That's the key.

Interestingly enough, the miracle shot Paris's team hit stopped Richey from going to the tournament last year....who knows, that could have made the difference in who we ended up with.

That would be Mike McGee as was Horn's replacement.

Richey Played at Florence Christian and signed to play with Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga and transferred to North Greenville his senior year.

I went to the high school associated with Tennessee Temple. Richey would have played under Kevin Templeton who had previously been the coach of the high school team when I was in school. My dad and brother both graduated from TTU.

Small world. Don’t hear Tennessee Temple come up very often…or ever.

Well it was dissolved, or merged or closed maybe that is why nobody talks about it much?

In March 2015, it was announced that, as of April 30, 2015, Tennessee Temple University would dissolve and merge with Piedmont International University a private Christian college in Winston Salem North Carolina.

Yep, went under. It could be a case study in poor leadership.

it makes you feel old when your high school no longer exists though!

He did well enough with what he had. We were picked dead last in the sec. Won @ Rupp, and beat Clem. Plenty of positives to build on.
2 fluke wins isn’t “plenty”

Various publications picked us 12th-14th in the conference, which is exactly where we finished.

We finished 12th. I am not going to repeat what i said previously to you. But here is something that I feel certain you will agree with because it is accurate: We finished higher than some picked us to finish in the SEC. And we did not finish any lower than anyone picked us to finish.

I was referring to the official SEC media projections on 14th, which is a composite of SEC and national media members.

Find some joy my guy. Clemson had beaten us 4 out of the last 5. And we don’t exactly win a bunch at Rupp. Given what he inherited, it was plenty.

I would agree with the last sentence.

12th is also higher than 13th and 14th. Since some picked us to finish 14th and 13th, SEC media picked us 14th as did FanSided.com, 2 of 4 ESPN writers picked us 13th and CBS picked us 13th, we clearly finished higher than some picked us to finish in the SEC.

But right where some other publications picked us.

Here we go again.....

The publications I find most trustworthy and reputable picked us 12th.

But I do realize once they get past about the 8th or 9th pick, it's just random guessing for who's gonna finish in what order at the bottom. Nobody is agonizing over their ballot to rank the bottom 3 or 4 teams.

I listed the publications: Sports Illustrated, SEC media, CBS, etc. The SEC media follow the teams and the league more and closer than anyone, and they picked us 14th as did Sports Illustrated. And CBS picked us 13th, which is worse than we finished.

Too much internal bias and conflict of interest for me to put much weight in the SEC media poll.

Spot on.

Sports Illustrated, CBS, the SEC media, ESPN (a couple of their writers).....ALL picked us to finish worse than we did. They are both reputable and well-known around the nation (that sports fans have heard of and are familiar with).

I agree with you. And I listed reliable and trustworthy media/publication sources. In addition to the SEC media, which follows SEC teams more and closer than anyone, Sports Illustrated picked us to finish dead last in the league, as did FanSided.com (which I admit is new to me). CBS and a couple of ESPN writers picked us 13th, which again is worse than we actually finished. As I said last night, accurately, we finished higher than some picked us to finish in the SEC And those "some" are multiple, well-recognized and known sources that I listed.

But some picked us 12th, so there was not a consensus.

ESPN, who is by far the most recognized name in sports, had us 12th.

2 of ESPN writers picked us 13th. Sports Illustrated, CBS are all recognized nationally. SI picked us 14th, CBS 13th, And again, no one knows and follows the SEC better and closer than the SEC media. They picked us 14th. More sources picked us to finish worse than 12th than did not.

But some accurately picked us 12th.

Unless we were picked, without exception, to finish 13th or worst, all you can say is that we finished approximately where predicted.

I never said that no one picked us 12th. Go back and read what I posted last night and you will see that I never said that. Everything I posted was accurate. What I am saying today is that more picked us to finish worse than 12th than did not. And I add the 247 source to that. They picked us to finish 14th, dead last.

As I said in my prior comment just before this one, more picked us to finish worse than 12th than did not. A lot more picked us to finish worse than 12th than did not. And I listed multiple sources.
