That's for damn sureCoach Knight RIP, will not be another like him.
Sure would have been interesting.Shoulda hired him instead of Dave
That would have taken more balls than are possessed by the university president, the board of trustees, the AD, and the entire state legislature.Shoulda hired him instead of Dave

What makes you think this? What is your definition of "get the job done?"...(though I think Paris will eventually get the job done...). But, that's me.
If you take a look at his prior Head Coaching job, his team went up his conference's standing each year. His team's overall record improved each year, as well. And he was mentored as an assistant by Bo Ryan, one of the top basketball coaches in the nation from 2001-2015, part of a staff that went to two Sweet 16s, one Final Four and one national championship appearance. What makes you think this? What is your definition of "get the job done?"
83 ain't that bad and he wasn't that fit. I'd say malignancy contributed to his demise. I'm not talking about cancer, either. He was possessed of a malignant spirit.Did "the jab" get him, too?
i figured it would’ve worked like an angry lap dog, the internal anger keeps it alive far longer than god ever intended83 ain't that bad and he wasn't that fit. I'd say malignancy contributed to his demise. I'm not talking about cancer, either. He was possessed of a malignant spirit.
He had manic-depressive written all over him. I don't think anyone could ever be really comfortable around him.i figured it would’ve worked like an angry lap dog, the internal anger keeps it alive far longer than god ever intended
Didn't fit the profile of young, athletic and stressfully exercising to qualify as a jab victim.Did "the jab" get him, too?
Sensitivity may have been part of it but I'm sure they were scared to death of the thought of Knight being in Columbia and dominating the scenery, taking away their power and coaching a winning basketball team.I liked Bobby Knight. There will never be another like him, for sure.
He once said that when he dies, he wants to be buried head down so that his critics can still "kiss my butt".
Yeah, I would have loved to hire him, rather than Dave. But our great administration from the BOT and down were too highly sensitive to have done that.
And today, I would not hesitate hiring 61 year-old Jay Wright immediately and thank Lamont for his service (though I think Paris will eventually get the job done; I'm patient with my investments too). But, that's me.
No, by that time. Knight was getting old and times had changed. There will never be another Knight because the times won't allow it. You just can't put your hands on kids in this day and time and I have a feeling Neil Reed wasn't the only one back then. We probably would have had a team that looked a lot like his Texas Tech's teams. Scrappy, but not very talented. He might have gotten into the dance and lost in the First Round. That's how his latter years of coaching looked.Shoulda hired him instead of Dave
