Saw on another Board that the BOT bill was not passed this session. Don't know if it's true. But if it is, my giving to the school just ended. I no longer will support incompetence and corruption. Just my way of protest.

I can get behind this. They needed a total reset. They didn't do it. Sad that people that have shown they have no worth in that position are just allowed to stay there.

This issue can still be passed by a 2/3 vote in the senate. The changes from someone I spoke with will happen. We all know how politics work. August 1 may be the last day for our athletic director. Been told he will be outed like the five members of the BOT

I stopped giving to the school years and years ago. I was on a few advisory boards in the 2000s and despite nearly unanimous support within the boards AND among faculty, nothing we worked on was ever enacted. A for instance would be an alumni network we wanted to build that helped place new grads into jobs in their field. We had corporate donations to fund it and alumni in the business world getting their HR departments involved. Died on the vine with no official support. Even the faculty we worked with were amazed the university itself had zero interest.

Only athletics will see a single dollar from me. The administration of my alma mater was embarrassing when I was there 25 years ago. Nothing has or will change. It used to frustrate me, but when I understood it always has been and always will be this way, I just quit caring.

Buddy you need to stay to yourself. I trust you will take my advice. You are like cancer. OK. Just go on.
Nah I try not to take idiots advice, again , when are you leaving…? Maybe you just wanted a little attention that day. It’s ok, but just own it. You were acting like a 12 year old turd that day! 😘

That sounds like something the BOT would merely need to endorse and instruct the President to "make it happen." WTF?

I was told later there was a turf war between those in faculty seeking networking opportunities for students vs those in faculty heavily invested in traditional career fair operations. At the time career fair days were a big thing.

Well this was slightly pre iPhone/social media so if you’re an outdated brain trust probably not. Reminds me of Sony who killed their own iTunes Store for fear it would cannibalize CD sales.

Does anybody remember Gibbs Volkswagon auto dealership at the intersection of Blosson and Assembly (yes, I'm dating myself)? The sign out front stated "Since 1877. Autos since 1909."

They understood that they were in the business of selling private transportation vehicles.

Reminds me of the old analogy about the buggy whip maker who turned down the chance to make steering wheel covers.
