Does anyone have any idea if he is eligible for a medical redshirt? Whether he is or not, I wonder if he may be done anyway. That hammy just doesn't want to go away. After a year and a half, it makes you wonder.

to a player who still hasn't recovered from a hamstring injury after a full year to make it worth his while to go pro. If he's through at MSU, it probably means he's through period. And that would be a damn shame.

he gives it another shot with another staff just to see what happens.

If he is drafted at all, it will be low because of his injuries and the fact that the only position he can play is 2B.

It probably would be worth his while to return.

Really, why do you even bother to post at all if you're not going to say anything?

but that could mean pro or college. That's not exactly going out on a limb.

Could you at least clarify if the guy is going to follow Raffo to Kennesaw State or if he is just going to sign a pro contract?

that doesn't surprise me with any of the players.

I will say this- he was a player and he seems to be the kind that hates losing. Maybe he's tired of all the ***** "that's baseball" players on the team.

Or maybe he feels like his hamstring should have been treated better.</p>

that many of the players don't know what the next step will be. there are going to be some that will leave no matter what. there will be some that will stay just because of who we hire, and there will be some that will leave because of it. i don't pretend to know turner, but assuming he is even physically able, i'd find it hard to imagine him leaving if we hire a really good coach. seems like he'd be one of the few on the roster to thrive off a fiery guy like cohen.

He would have to sit out 2009. He's a sophomore this year, and he used his redshirt in 2006. So he would burn his junior year next year and have 1 year to play as a senior in 2010. There's no way he'd be dumb enough to waste his whole college career doing that.
If he leaves MSU, it'll be to go pro.

If he leaves MSU to get signed in the 20th round to get $20,000 he's crazy. He was hurt at the end of last year and basically the entire year this year. No team will pick him high enough to really pull him away from college. If he leaves MSU, he hates it there or the players there. Plain and simple. Art Gardner (a Jackson area MLB scout) said last year on Jackson radio that he had Turner rated as the number 1 prospect in the entire state of Mississippi for this 2008 year. College and High School. He went from being a late first/early second round pick to being a guy that would get chump change in the middle rounds. If he was to come back and truly get over the injury, his stock would skyrocket.
