Now he probably won't be ready for opening day 09, and many pitchers are never the same. Which SP will be free agents after this season? They will need some help big time.

The rehab time on this is a solid year. Hudson will be lucky to be back at the All-Star Break next year and don't count on him for much the rest of 09. Hopefully he will be back in 2010.</p>***Yes, I still hate the Braves, but I watched Hudson dominate on the field here, so he is my token Brave to like.

He's probably out all of next year. They are saying he could make it back to pitch the last month or so of the season, but you gotta plan for him not to be available all next year. I'm not worried about how he'll be when he gets back though. The days of guys never being the same after TJ surgery are over I think. That surgery has become so commonplace nowadays and guys routinely make it back now to be as good if not better than they were before. The Braves have a lot of money coming off the payroll this year so with Hudson out for the year look for them to make a strong push to either sign Sabathia or Sheets and/or trade for a top of the line starter. I think it'll most likely be Sheets since he'll be a little cheaper than Sabathia and they won't have to give up any prospects, and even though there doesn't seem to be many available ace pitchers to trade for this year the Braves have a knack for pulling trades out of nowhere that no one saw coming so that's possible too.

......Sabathia and Sheets along with him. Okay, obviously not realistic, but at least maybe hire Yost. He's doing a heck of a better job than Cox and company are doing in Atlanta these last few seasons.

don't discredit yourself too quickly there, Arrow.... I heard Ben Ingram (voice of the Ms Braves) on his show this afternoon declare that the Braves are going to "blow up" the team for next year. Smoltz and Glavine (and now Hudson) are probably long gone. The only players we will recognize from this year will be Chipper, McCann and Francoeur.

There will be a lot of "cap room"...and the Braves will have to rebuild. They have a lot of talent in the AA and AAA's and may choose to use some of that and build ala the Rays. That Rays had most of the talent that they are winning with at the Montgomery Biscuits for the past couple of years. That team steady whipped *** in the Southern League for the past two or three years....and look at them now. With no big names or money. They didn't even make a move to be a "buyer" this week.

It will be interesting to watch the Braves put the 2009 team together.

(addendum -- I am still so pissed that I can't see straight. The Braves just had to trade 5 damn good and some great prospects last year to get Texiera. Okay if they can make that into a Playoff or World Series winner. How did that work out? And this year they suck and Texiera is outstanding. They have to sell him off the the highest bidder and get a AAA value of a first baseman. What a damn Charlie Foxtrot! The shiny is wearing off the decisions of the front office....real quick. Look for some changes there also.)
