...makes the most of it. I'm just glad this deal seems to be over with so that we don't have to hear about it anymore.
I have to reiterate that while I think it's wrong for Favre to have retired and changed his mind, and I understand that it hurt the Packers' plans for the future, they still treated him dirty for a man who's a future Hall of Famer and who's still playing at a pretty high level. I see it unfortunately as being a product of changing generations, both in management and the fan base. This has happened throughout sports for decades. It always seems to get the point where an athlete becomes less welcome, even they're one of your all-time greats.

I know Favre has his haters out there, including many on this board, but that just tells us one thing: Brett Favre is one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. Fans just don't hate athletes with such a passion unless they were great enough to talk about in the first place. It's the same reason people hate Duke so much, or the Yankees so much, or used to hate Notre Dame with such a passion(now they suck).
Finally, I'm with everyone who thinks Favre has an ego the size of the Moon. But, that doesn't bother me. He's not the first top athlete to be labeled in that manner. Still, I'm proud of him and his accomplishments, and I'm proud he's a real Mississippian.
