Brennan Marion and the go-go offense

Have seen his name thrown out there by some fans as an OC they would like Beamer to pursue. Currently the OC at UNLV. I have no idea what the go-go offense is, except that I gather it has something to do with tempo.

I know that nobody here follows UNLV closely, but anyone have thoughts on this guy? Doesn’t seem to fit the mold of what Beamer would be looking for for the type of offense we want to run. That’s just a hot take based on the next to nothing that I know about him.

The next time a gimmick offense wins the SEC will be the first time. Even Spurrier's '96 team averaged over 100 yards rushing a game. And how far did that boy up at Kentucky - Mumme - who threw it all over the yard get when it came to winning the SEC Championship? In this league, offenses need to be solid and balanced - at least they do if teams want to get to the top.

Would be a giant step backwards. Hiring UNLV's OC? No way.

Living out here in the West with a buddy who's a Boise State fan, I've seen a fair amount of UNLV's offense. Their defense is what separated them this year - not their offense. Their offense is sorta like Ole Miss, but not as sound.

Gotcha. I can't say I've followed them at all, outside of the drama with their QB who quit.

Not sure what's turned some of our fans onto him as a possibility. Haven't bothered looking up any of their offensive stats.

Word here in Vegas is he has the inside track to get the HC position at UNLV.
