Only reason he has a job is because he beat Bama this year. Oklahoma fans can’t be excited about next year. Their Freshman QB looks promising though.

I’m not taking up for Venebles at all, but if your team isn’t playing in a playoff game, you’re going to get screwed by the portal. Especially if you are playing against a Navy type team that will have little no opt outs and transfer issues.

If they had any of their normal 2 deep WRs today, they win by 10 plus. They dropped two long walk in TD receptions that hit the WR in the hands.
Oklahoma should have been on our schedule & Texas on Ole Miss for 2024 & 2025

He's a better coach than ya'll are giving him credit for. Of course it's going to be tougher in the SEC, but he is attempting to completely change the culture at OU from that finesse stuff to a more SEC-looking team. Maybe he'll succeed, maybe he won't. But I think he's a pretty good coach.

I actually think he missed Lebby this season, but I get why they had to split.

Why do AD’s do this? There’s no need to extend a coach who doesn’t really have any options to leave anyway.
Or that might need to leave. He's not in any kind of demand. In fact, I'd say he's lucky to have a major P4 job. Some AD's are unbelievably stupid.

That freshman QB won’t play another down for them. Unless he sticks around and takes over in a couple of years.

They paid big money for Mateer to come play for his boy Arbuckle

Didn’t know his buyout was 45 million. AD should be fired, Good lord. I obviously picked the wrong career.
In a perfect world, OU fires their AD and hires ours from us!!!! God knows everyone in the athletic department would be happy to see that. I never thought I would see the day where employees would loathe someone more than John Cohen!

I was at the Armed Forces Bowl game. The first half of the first quarter, it looked like Oklahoma was going to run them out of the stadium.

Oklahoma had far more talented players, but Navy survived the first overwhelming wave. The OK QB threw some beautiful passes that were dropped, but the Navy QB missed some wide open receivers, or threw some wild passes that took Receivers off their feet and cost them a touchdown.

Naturally the Oklahoma fans outnumbered Navy's. The OK fans had either Baker Mayfield or Kyler Murray jerseys on, while the Navy fans had #12 Roger Staubach.

Looked like the stadium was pretty full. I'm sure it was 80/20 Oklahoma or more.

And what’s your insider info on how EVERYONE in the AD office wants him gone? I have no doubt you are well connected. I look forward to your response.

Everybody knows he sucks. This isn’t some independent thought on my behalf.

Boom! Nailed it. Asks for feedback and gets pissed when it’s negative. Spent $1 million renovating his own office. He and the guy and the girl he brought with him from Oklahoma all keep to themselves. Has no idea how to manage money. Several sources say that our balance sheet and income statement is a complete disaster. It is so bad That our athletic department CEO left us to take the same job at Rice.

You don’t pay much attention to college football do you??
He literally fired his OC he promoted after Lebby left mid season. He then hired the Washington state OC and they dropped a bag getting that WSU QB. Nothing he’s done since Lebby left has been positive goat. You have some serious dumbass takes

Those that you say loathe him are the po ols and baseball onlys ridding out there tenure. They are the ones who say well we don’t do it that way. Those that are left are very very few now. In case you haven’t looked Selmon has totally revamped the AD with his hand picked staff. So whomever is telling you this, is most likely unemployed so sure they wished Cohen back I’m sure.

He didn’t renovate “his office” it was needed up grades to the Bryan Building. Some of you all need better sources. I shudder to think were we would be with NIL/Rev sharing if cohen was still here.
This negative BS talk is coming from those who don’t like we have a progressive AD.
